Relationship Manager - Corporate Banking (Coast Region)

This role focuses on growing a client portfolio through building new customer relationships while managing existing ones. 

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Banking; the successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing profitability, revenue and retention of existing relationships by cross selling the full range of bank’s products and services.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the existing Corporate portfolio to ensure establishment of appropriate account plans, recommend credit facilities while containing risks to acceptable levels, grow assets, deposit book and non funded income to maximize earnings.
  • Identify, pursue and close sales opportunities for a broad range of financial products and services, create opportunities for cross selling and maintain strategic dialogue with clients and prospects to generate ongoing corporate finance opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain new relationships for Corporate & Institutional Banking, preparing the required credit and financial analysis as per Bank policies and procedures, and mobilize deposits to maximize profits.
  • Research, follow-up and resolve client inquiries/problems in a timely and professional manner, and promote excellent customer service to foster a lasting business relationship.
  • Develop broad market expertise and knowledge, and /or target niche industries in the assigned territory with a focus on commercial and small businesses with the aim of maintaining an established market presence and extensive network.
Position Requirements
  • Business degree from o recognized University.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in serving high net worth corporate customers.
  • Solid experience in business development
  • A strong background in client and portfolio management.
  • Significant knowledge and exposure ¡n commercial/corporate banking products and solutions.
  • Good understanding of banking regulations and industry dynamics.

Head of Card Services
 
Reporting to Head Retail Products, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the cards services team in product and portfolio management from an end to end perspective of customer life cycle. 

This includes segment selection, product development, channel planning, portfolio life cycle management, all customer processes and credit performance.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies for maximizing revenue generation through Interchange Income, cross sell routes, customer / channel / process / partnership management.
  • Design and manage the roll out activities of new card products, including product positioning, advertising and promotions activities.
  • Design and implement, lean, efficient and effective card processes that translate into excellent customer service and cost management.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive set of portfolio tools to achieve targets on spend, activation, cross sell & attrition to grow & retain profitable customers.
  • Review, analyze and manage the customer portfolio including instituting initiatives in line with the strategy for customer acquisition, retention and cross sell of Asset and Liability products.
  • Formulate and manage the administration of fee structure and cost management initiatives that maximize revenue generation and minimize cost and revenue leakage.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Operational Risk Policies & external compliance requirements to minimize risk of financial and reputational loss from non compliance to internal and external regulations.
  • Develop and service strategic relationships with Merchants and tactical partners to build a unique product proposition based on the requirements of each card type.
Position Requirements
  • Business degree from a recognized University. MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cards business, with at least 3 years demonstrated exposure in the leadership.
  • Strong background in product development and roll out, partner relations and change management.
  • In depth understanding of the dynamics of the Card Market with specific understanding of the Card market.
  • Comprehension of the Card’s Regulations from a local and international standpoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team management skills.

Director, Transaction Banking (Re-advertised)

This role entails leading and managing the Transaction Banking Department of the Bank. 

Reporting to the Executive Director, Corporate & Institutional Banking; the successful candidate will be responsible for providing products and services to corporate / commercial clients, multinational corporations, Government bodies and financial institutions in the areas of Cash Management, Trade Finance and Securities Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a transaction banking culture within the bank and create opportunities for cross selling value added state-of-the-art products and services in cash management, online trade & electronic banking products as significant product areas throughout National Bank.
  • Lead the establishment of Transaction banking foothold encompassing all manual, electronic and mobile tools in the area of Collections, Payment and Liquidity Management tools, Import, Exports and Guarantees.
  • Champion the implementation of world-class cash management solutions that help clients improve payment services, collection services, liquidity and cash flow and optimize their treasury and payment businesses.
  • Deliver fast, efficient, reliable and comprehensive solutions for every stage of o clients trade value chain to support their domestic and foreign trade activities including international trade products, financial supply chain management, custom-made and performance-risk finance solutions for structured trade finance and commodity trade finance.
  • Provides custody, clearing, trust, agency, depositary and related services in both the local and international securities markets.
  • Ensure that client implementation is efficient and adequately protects the Bank, regularly audit implementation procedures and workflows, and improve / reinforce the implementation procedures when necessary.
Position Requirements
  • Business degree from a recognized University. MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience with at least 5 years’ experience in o senior management role.
  • A strong background in running, developing and building a transaction management business is a prerequisite.
  • Significant knowledge and exposure in Cash Management & eBanking, Trade and Export Finance, Global Security Services and Client Access Solutions.
  • Comprehension of the bank’s Regulations from a local and international standpoint.

Director, Institutional Banking
 
This role entails leading a team of relationship managers in the development and growth of institutional banking segment i.e. Government (central and county), State Corporation and Agencies, Religious organizations & NGO’s, Education & Health institutions, Financial & Non Bank financial institutions. 

Reporting to the Executive Director, Corporate & Institutional Banking; the successful candidate will be responsible for deposit mobilization, deposits mix and cost of funds management, establishing and managing lines of credit & transaction banking solutions to the respective clientele.

Key Responsibilities
  • Spearhead the formulation and implementation of strategies, systems, policies and processes that guide and ensure delivery of institutional banking business.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of strategic initiatives for marketing and selling institutional banking products with a focus on growing business volumes, customer base and income.
  • Interface and establish close working relationship with other units of the Bank, Financial Institutions and Development Banks.
  • Oversee the overall coordination, leadership, motivation and management of performance of staff within institutional banking department.
  • Effectively and proactively manage the cost of funds by mobilizing deposits from institutional banking clients as well as developing and implementing initiatives that bring down the cost of doing business within institutional banking department.
  • Develop and implement initiatives for maintaining strong relationships with existing customers as well as develop new relationships that guarantee a portfolio of corporate customers.
  • Spearhead the development of products, solutions and services that are tailored to meet institutional banking client needs and requirements.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related area from a recognized University. MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in relationship management with at least 5 years’ experience in a senior management role.
  • A strong background in business development, including sales planning, execution and follow up is a prerequisite.
  • Significant knowledge and exposure in commercial banking products and services.
  • Comprehension of the banking regulations from a local and international standpoint.
  • Resourceful with strong market network, and proven ability to build quality relationships.
