Logistics Assistant Job in Nairobi, Kenya

Emergency Plus Medical Services (E-Plus) is a private company, limited by guarantee, fully owned by the Kenya Red Cross Society to offer emergency medical services which include 24hr ambulance services, Pre-hospital care training and the sale of first aid kits.
 
We are looking for a suitable candidate to fill the following position:
 

Position Title: Logistics Assistant
 
Reporting to: Operations Manager, E-plus
 
Job Location: Nairobi
 
Job Purpose: Responsible for the overall ambulance logistical and transport management in accordance to E Plus policies and procedures to ensure with to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in operations
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the maintenance of operational records concerning allocation, scheduling and rescheduling of work duties to Ambulance Operators;
  • Compile reports for all the ambulances’ activities on a daily basis that will be presented to the Operations Manager including checking work ticket and fuel receipts daily for all ambulances;
  • Maintain records of ambulance utilisation and coordinating the planned preventive maintenance programme in order to ensure that motor-vehicles are properly and timely serviced, fuelled and in good repair;
  • Maintain records and prepare and submit reports regarding the quantity and value of fuel consumption used on each vehicle in order to monitor, track and control costs; also examine fuel supply documents to verify vehicle consumption levels;
  • Coordinate the repair and maintenance of motor-vehicles with authorised garages in order to ensure that any repairs carried out conform to order specifications;
  • Report any major incidences to the senior management and ensure that proper protocols and procedures are followed;
  • Liaise with different departments including service providers to ensure that ambulance equipment are adequate and in good working condition;
  • Investigate motor-vehicle accidents and liaising with traffic police and insurance companies in order to establish the cause of accidents as well as determining any liabilities against the Society
Minimum Requirements:
  • Diploma in Business Management, Transport Management or related course;
  • Over three (3) years’ experience in logistics and transport management;
  • Valid BCE Driving License;
  • Good computer literacy, with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
