Our client, a premier budget Hotel Chain operating two establishments in Nairobi and soon opening a new unit in Kisumu, are looking for experienced candidates who are passionate about Hospitality to join their Kisumu opening team.


Sales
 
Sales Manager – Kisumu Suites 
(1 Position)
 
The Sales Manager’s role will be responsible for the generation of leads and the conversion of those leads to actual business for the Hotel. 

HE / She will also be responsible for creation, maintaining and development of lasting relations with our customers. 

They will be responsible for management of corporate clients’ accounts.
 
Position Requirements:
  • O Level Education
  • Diploma / Degree  in Sales and Marketing
  • 3 years work experience in Account Management, Sales and Marketing, Hotel experience an added advantage
Human Resources
 
Human Resource Assistant – Kisumu Suites 
(1 Position)

The HR Assistant’s role will be primarily in charge of the transactional HR processes e.g. leave processing, HR documentation, and Staff communication. 

The Position holder will also ensure that company policy is adhered to by advising the staff and supervisor’s on the same and will also champion company-wide HR events

Position Requirements:
  • O Level Education
  • Certificate / Diploma in Human Resource Management
  • 2 years work experience in a busy HR department, Hotel experience preferred.
  • Computer applications knowledge required with HRIS understanding preferred.
  • Membership to IHRM an added advantage.

Accounts Department
 
Unit Accountant – Kisumu Suites

The Unit Accountant will chiefly be in charge of the Hotel’s accounts and stores, managing its profitability and operations. 

He/She will also manage the accounting of the Hotel’s income, and ensuring that the Hotel is adhering to policy and will see to it that it meets the income targets as per budget.

Position Requirements:
  • Degree / Diploma  Level Education
  • Certification in Accountancy CPA / ACCA
  • 4 years work experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of Sun, Micros Fidelio, MC computer applications

Night Auditor / Supervisor – Kisumu Suites 
(1 Position)
 
The Night Auditor’s role will include the supervision of staff in the night shift, as well as auditing the data entered in the systems and the processes to ensure the integrity of the data and that processes are duly followed to maintain a high quality of service. 

She / He will also man the hotel reception during the night shift.

Position Requirements:
  • O Level Education
  • 3 years front Office Experience with 1 year experience in a supervisory role
Purchasing & Stores Clerk – Kisumu Suites 
(1 Positions)
 
The position holder will be required to purchase food & beverage at the right price and at the right time while performing his/her duties within the framework of the standards connected with the product and the direction and regulations laid down by the hotel management. 

They will be required to work in close liaison with the Operations Manager, Head Chef, F& B supervisor and Unit Accountant.
 
Position Requirements:
  • O Level Education
  • Certification in Purchasing and Supplies / Stores Management
  • 2 years work experience in Hospitality Purchasing & Supplies / Stores department.
  • Knowledge of Computers with Fidelio, Micros and MC systems knowledge preferred.
  • Membership to CIPS an added advantage.

Food & Beverage Department
 
Senior Waiter – Kisumu Suites 
(1 Position)
 
The Senior Waiter will assist the Assistant Manager F & B in the running of the Food Service department. 

She / He will be responsible for providing a comprehensive food, functions and event service that is based on a welcome, hospitable, warm and the genuine desire to provide personal but not intrusive service through the delivery of high quality meals in a spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained environment.

 
Position Requirements:
  • O Level Education
  • Certification in F & B Training, Hotel Management / Supervision preferred
  • 3 years work experience in Hospitality with 1year in a supervisory position.
  • Knowledge of Computers with Fidelio, Micros and MC systems knowledge preferred.
Restaurant Waiter / Waitresses – Kisumu Suites 
(2 Positions)

The role holder will serve guests their beverage and food in a warm friendly and professional manner whilst adhering to all company rules and standards. 

The Restaurant Waiter/Waitress is also supposed to drive the Hotel’s revenue by up selling the services and products available.

Position Requirements:
  • O Level Education
  • Certification in F & B Training
  • 1 year work experience in a similar role in a similar organization
  • Knowledge of Computers and  Fidelio system knowledge an added advantage
Barman – Kisumu Suites 
(1 Position)

The Barman’s role will be responsible for the management of the Unit’s bar, including the stocking and accounting for bar stocks and sales. 

He / She will be responsible for meeting the bar beverage sales targets. 

The position holder will be required to be knowledgeable on liquors as well as a wide range of cocktails and have the ability to creatively develop unique signature house cocktails.

Position Requirements:
  • O Level Education
  • Certification in F & B Sales and Service
  • Hands-on experience in keeping the bar stocked and sanitized while always providing welcoming and caring service
  • Special talent for adapting to different personalities of guests and co-workers without losing attention
  • Adept at balancing cash receipts, generating bills and collecting money for food/drinks served
Maintenance Officer – Kisumu Suites 
(1 Position)

The Maintenance Officer /Handyman will ensure that the Hotel, it’s facilities and equipment are maintained in safe, working and operable condition at all times. 

He/she is in charge of the repair and maintenance of the hotel facility to ensure it does not fall into a state of disrepair and run down and also to supervise outsourced maintenance service providers where applicable.

Position Requirements:
  • O Level Education
  • Certification in applicable Technician trade
  • 2 years work experience in repair and maintenance
  • Holders of Technicians Trade Test certification or National Diploma preferred

Kitchen Department
 
Head Chef – Kisumu Suites
(1 Position)

To provide a comprehensive food, function and event service that is based on a welcome, hospitable, warm and genuine desire to provide personal but not intrusive service through the delivery of high quality meals in a spotlessly clean and hygienically maintained environment.
 
Position Requirements:
  • O Level Education
  • Certification in Food and Beverage production
  • At least 5 years work experience in Food Production with 2 year in a supervisory role.

Senior Cook – Kisumu Suites 
(1 Position)

The Senior Cook’s role will be the principle deputy to the Head Chef and will contribute significantly in meeting the Kitchen department’s targets, supervision of the cooks and stewards, as well as actively participate in the food production and presentation to meet the set service standards.

Position Requirements:
  • O Level Education
  • Certification in Food and Beverage production
  • 4 years work experience in Food Production with 1 year in a supervisory role.
Cooks – Kisumu Suites 
(2 Positions)

The Cook’s role will ensure the maximization of F & B revenue through the preparation of high quality, well presented meals while managing the production costs.

Position Requirements:
  • O Level Education
  • Certification in Food and Beverage production
  • 2 year relevant experience in a similar position.
Kitchen Steward – Kisumu Suites 
(3 Positions)
 
The Kitchen Steward’s role will ensure a clean and safe working kitchen environment and is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and proper storage of all china, glass and silver and ensuring the highest standards of sanitation.

Position Requirements:
  • A Basic Education
  • Ability to learn and follow instructions.
  • Ability to communicate and understand cleaning agents directions for use
  • Experience in a steward’s role in a similar capacity is  an added advantage

Front Office Department 
 
Front Office Supervisor – Kisumu Suites
(1 Position)

The F.O. Supervisor’s role will ensure that unit is providing excellent guest service at all times, maintaining high standards and consistency of outstanding customer service, monitor all front office-related tasks, supervise and coach the F.O. team.

Position Requirements:
  • O Level Education
  • Certification in F & B Training, Hotel Management / Supervision preferred
  • 3 years work experience in Hospitality with 1year in a supervisory position.
  • Knowledge of Computers with Fidelio, Micros and MC systems knowledge preferred.

Senior Receptionist – Kisumu Suites 
(1 Position)

The Senior Receptionist’s role will deputize the F. O. supervisor and contribute effectively in the management of the F.O team and also contribute in the meeting of the Front Office revenue targets as well as ensure that the quality of Front Office service standards are maintained always.

Position Requirements:
  • O Level Education
  • Certification in F & B Training, Hotel Management / Front Office
  • 2 years work experience in Hospitality with 1year in a supervisory position.
  • Knowledge of Computers with Fidelio, Micros and MC systems knowledge preferred.
Receptionist – Kisumu Suites 
(2 Positions)

The Receptionist’s role primarily will include helping guests check in, provide them with a room key, show them their room, assist guests when checking in and out of the hotel and handle the payments at the front desk.

Position Requirements:
  • O Level Education
  • Certification in Front Office / Customer Service Training
  • 1 year experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of Computers with Fidelio, Opera  systems knowledge preferred.

Unit Management
 
General Manager – Kisumu Suites
 
The GM will be responsible for operating the Hotel profitably while ensuring quality services, guest satisfaction and operational professionalism. 

Further the GM shall promote, develop and extend the business of the Hotel and at all times and in all respects conform to and comply with the proper and reasonable directions and regulations of the Company’s Board of Directors. 

The GM shall also be responsible for managing and developing the Hotel operating team.

Position Requirements:
  • Advanced Level Degree / Diploma   Education in Business Management / Hospitality Management
  • Certification in Hospitality Management  required
  • 5 years work experience in Hospitality with 2 years in a management position
  • Knowledge of Sun, Micros Fidelio, MC computer applications
  • Sound Leadership skills
  • Ability to build and manage teams
Assistant Manager Food & Beverage – Kisumu Suites

The Assistant Manager F & B will be the principle deputy to the GM and head of the Food Service and Front Office departments.

Position Requirements:
  • Advanced Level Degree / Diploma   Education in Business Management / Hospitality Management
  • Certification in Hospitality Management / F & B / Front Office required
  • 4 years work experience in Hospitality with 1 years in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of Sun, Micros Fidelio, MC computer applications
  • Sound Supervisory skills
