Vacancy: Finance Manager – HASS South Sudan

The Company:
 Hass Petroleum Limited is a regional oil marketing company with a significant presence in East Africa and the Great Lakes region. 

We have fully fledged operations in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, Somalia and the DRC dealing with sale and distribution of white oils (Diesel, Petrol & Kerosene), Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and our own brand of lubricants blended to world class standards.

The Job: We seek to recruit qualified and experienced Finance professional to head the Finance function in our operations in South Sudan. His/her main brief will be to generate financial reports of business unit with integrity and within the required timelines. 

This is a senior position which requires a mature and firm individual to ensure that checks and balances are in place and adhered to by the other functions. 

The position reports to the Country Manager –South Sudan, with a dotted line to Regional Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities Include; 
  • Oversee budgeting and Financial planning process  forecasting of the South Sudan business unit (BU)
  • Ensure financial analysis and support is provided to other departments in the BU
  • Develop short, medium and long-term financial plans for the business.
  • Project the financial requirements for new and or existing ventures and advise management accordingly.
  • Maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures, ensuring adherence of the same by other functions.
  • Management of receivables, payables and cashflow for the business unit
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions within the business.
  • Drive the adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other best International practices within the business
  • Provide coaching and mentor the junior team members within the business
  • Provide month-end and year-end reports as required to meet critical group-wide deadlines are met.
Desired Qualifications and Experience;
  • A Bachelor’s Degree  in a Business-Related field;
  • Professional qualification in Finance (CPA-K or ACCA)
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting packages
  • Must have working experience of Oracle ERP;
  • At least 6 years’ managerial experience in a large organisation (Annual sales turnover of USD 90 million and above)
  • Ability to meet and critical deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of regional tax laws and practice
  • Excellent negotiation, Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player and capable of working under pressure
