Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate
the company’s range of product to customers at the assigned store.
- Promote
and Market the company’s range of product on behalf of the company.
- Show
how products are best-served and the nutritional values.
- Show
how product should be properly stored.
- Answer
questions about products.
- Discuss
pricing tiers with customers.
- Give
product samples.
- Serve
products to customers.
- Tell
customers why our products are better than competitors.
- Suggest
specific product purchases.
- Recommend
product improvements to the company as per the request / comments of the
customers.
- Walk
around store offering samples to customers.
- Clean
up area after demonstration.
- Create
a positive image and lead consumers to use our products.
- Distribute
product samples, brochures, flyers etc. to source new sales opportunities
- Identify
interest and understand customer needs and requirements
- Report
on demonstration related information (interest level, questions asked,
number of samples/flyers distributed etc).
- Influencing
customers to buy products by following a prepared sales talk to give
product information and price quotations.
- Ensuring
all marketing opportunities are effectively translated into sales.
- Acting
as a direct contact between the company and its existing and potential
markets.
- Gaining
clear understanding of the customer’s requirements.
- Contributing
to team effort by accomplishing related results according to the company
policies.
- Developing
and maintaining marketing strategies to meet the agreed company objectives.
- Identifying
target markets and developing strategies to communicate with them.
The successful candidate should have the following
qualifications and competencies:-
- Sales
and Marketing Certificate with two years experience in promoting
FMCGs and those with knowledge of foreign languages like French , German
and others will have an added advantage.
- Excellent

Dairy Farm Managers

Production & Management
- Meet the defined production and performance
targets for the farm
- Organize all aspects of the management of the
farm operation – to include seasonal, weekly and daily operations.
- Promote herd health and prevent health
problems (e.g. mastitis, bloat, milk fever, grass staggers)
- Ensure that the breeding programme is
implemented effectively
- Maintain timeliness with all farm operations,
thus keeping the farm running smoothly and up to date
Milking and Quality
- Oversee the operation of cowshed to ensure
first grade supply of milk Shed & plant hygiene
Pasture & Feeding Management:
- Pasture and supplementary feed allocation to
ensure adequate cost-effective feeding of stock
- To ensure enough fodder is established and
conserved to run the farm for at least 3 months
- Be able to identify a looming feed deficit or
surplus and take appropriate steps to maximize feed utilization and profit
- Understand how to accurately time supplement
use in a grazing system to increase cow days in milk and high milk solids
response for every kg fed
Personnel Management
- Organize, implement and monitor the staff roster
, Hiring and allocation of casual laborers
Asset Management
- Effective and efficient use of farm machinery
- Maintenance of the business assets
Compliance
- Operate the farm to satisfy all Compliance
requirements
Qualifications Required:
- Field experience as a dairy farm Manager in a
reputable farm.
- Knowledge of Animal Husbandry and Agri
business / dairy farm management.
- Proven record in communication skills and
report writing
- Degree in Dairy Technology, Veterinary
Medicine, Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Education and Extension (Animal),
Agri-business management, Agricultural economics or a related field is
required.
- Minimum of 5 (Five) years field experience in
dairy farm management , agribusiness management, entrepreneurship and/or a
business related field in the dairy sector.
- Proficient knowledge of word processing,
spreadsheets, presentation tools, electronic mail (Microsoft Office
preferred) and Internet.
- Fluency in both oral and written English and
Kiswahili. Knowledge of local dialects will be an added advantage
Field Milk Graders
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reporting all the activities that have
occurred during the field work. Must ensure satisfaction with the quality
of milk delivered at the company from the field. Reporting has to be
clear, comprehensive and accurate to ensure continuity of operations and
no ambiguity.
- Commitment to ensuring that discipline,
honesty and integrity is maintained in the course of duty and duly
executing his/ her tasks in a professional manner. Shall not be associated
or be participative in any acts that are illegal by law or against company
policy.
- Preparation and standardization of laboratory
chemical and reagents for use in the milk grading process.
- Reporting all the incidences however minor
with that have involved you with the regulatory bodies/arms of the
government in your course of duty.
- Charged with ensuring the safety of company
equipment and resources entrusted to your use at all times. You will be
fully responsible for all activities taking place in your work area/location.
- Ensuring that the company quality clause on
the milk transportation process is duly adhered to including ascertaining
the quantity of milk procured, quality of the milk, use of security seals
and the locking of the transportation truck/tanker.
- Sampling, analysis and testing of raw milk in
the field, ensuring that it complies with the highest quality standards as
designed by the company.
- Ensuring hygiene is held top on the agenda in
the process of milk grading, collection and transportation.
- Duly and adequately communicate all
occurrences to the Quality assurance Officer from time to time to
facilitate quick decision making and to taking of corrective actions.
- Responsibility over the handling and operation
of all laboratory resources under your care. All malfunctions, breakages
or shortages should be promptly reported for remedial action.
- Application and upholding the use of the
company certified test methods and procedures during the course of duty.
Expected to fully understand the principle behind every test method used
in Dairy Quality Assurance.
- Report any anomalies immediately to the
process owners, for corrective action and follow up and ensure the
corrective action taken is effective and sustainable
- Troubleshooting all process anomalies as and
when they occur followed by all documentation that related to the
concerned product or process.
- Carry out any other duties as may be directed
from time to time.

- Be a certificate / Diploma holder in Dairy
Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, and Analytical Science and have at
least 3 years relevant experience.
- Be innovative, enthusiastic and energetic,
able to work with minimum supervision and possess excellent organizational
skills including the ability to multitask under pressure.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills, a
pleasant and outgoing personality
- Be self-motivated and team orientated and work
to a high level of integrity and accountability, with keen attention to

- Be Computer literate with hands on working
experience in operating Microsoft Office suite specially MS Word and MS
Excel.

Dairy Field Extension Officers
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To observe, improve and report the raw milk
supply chain from the dairy farmers, milk graders, cooling station up to
the processor.
- This improvement should be towards KEBS
standards of raw milk.
- To train farmers on quality of raw milk and
good husbandry to increase income.
- To train milk-graders, milk-transporters and
dairy technicians in the supply chain.
- To guide and train the management of Dairy
Cooperative Societies on milk quality and traceability.
- To link-up the farmers, the Cooperatives and
the Processor.
- Provide dairy value chain development and
commercialization support to smallholder farmers and co-operatives in the
assigned county.
- The position holder will coordinate raw milk
supply chain activities under the supervision of the Milk Procurement
Manager and will be responsible for the effective and timely execution of
planned activities within north rift region.
- Mobilize farmers into dairy groups and thus
facilitate them to form a legally registered Cooperative society.
- Coordinate and conduct all key trainings for
dairy groups in group dynamics, cornerstones and animal health management.
- Design training materials and other
promotional methods and materials to promote farmer coordination,
mobilization as they relate to improved livestock management and animal
well-being.
- Develop robust production monitoring
indicators including a strong database for all production and productivity
parameters.
- Responsible for monitoring and reporting on
key trends in production and productivity. Including: collect, analyze and
validate relevant data and produce technical reports as key input in
designing strategies to increase production and productivity as well as
supporting capacity building efforts for farmers.
- Monitor production and productivity related
indicators at producer organization level and provide timely advise to
enable attainment of key productivity targets;
- Provide technical support to farmers and
cooperative societies to setup robust extension systems that effectively
serve smallholder farmers to increase production and productivity.
- Provide technical support to farmers to
prepare and implement efficient feeding, extension and breeding plans;.
- Work with input service providers including
Artificial Insemination services, to ensure that they deliver training and
quality services to farmers - feeds, animal drugs, equipment,
breeding services among others;
- Submit timely weekly, monthly and quarterly
reports indicating progress for each of the targeted farmers or
cooperative societies.
Qualifications Required:
- Field experience with dairy farmers with
emphasis on training
- Knowledge of common raw milk tests and
readiness to learn advance testing practices
- Proven record in communication skills and
report writing
- Degree in Dairy Technology, Veterinary
Medicine, Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Education and Extension,
Agri-business management, Agricultural economics or a related field is
required.
- Minimum of 5 (Five) years field/technical
experience with agribusiness development, farmer cooperatives,
entrepreneurship and/or a business related field in the dairy sector.
- Proficient knowledge of word processing,
spreadsheets, presentation tools, electronic mail (Microsoft Office
preferred) and Internet.
- Fluency in both oral and written English and
Kiswahili. Knowledge of local dialects will be an added advantage
