Management Sciences for Health (MSH)
is a nonprofit international health organization with over four decades of
experience in strengthening health systems, and capacity of local
institutions.

Challenge TB is one of USAID’s main
country level TB implementation mechanisms.
Challenge TB aligns with the WHO
post-2015 Global TB Strategy and the new USG TB Strategy to enhance focus on
improving patient-centered quality TB services, developing evidence based
country specific strategies to achieve high impact results, building local
capacity and the utilization of innovations and new technologies to move
forward in the global fight against TB.
The five-year cooperative agreement
runs from September 2014 – September 2019.
Challenge TB is implemented by lead
partner KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation, and other consortium partners include
American Thoracic Society, FHI 360, IRD, International Union Against
Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, Japan Anti-Tuberculosis Association, MSH, PATH

Senior Community TB Officer

The Senior Community TB officer is
responsible provide technical assistance to Primary Health Care facilities for
the implementation of community-based TB care in the identification, tracking
and referral of TB suspects.
S/he is also responsible for building
the capacity of facilities-based and outreach TB health workers, and local
partner TB focal persons on community TB care, prevention and control.
S/he will coordinate and support the
State and County TB Coordinators, private and project partners at the different
levels on planning, implementation, monitoring and supportive supervision of TB
activities.
In addition, He/she support NTP to
operationalize SOPs for improving on TB case detection in health facilities and
community level.
Qualifications
- Health Officer or Nurse professional (B.Sc. in
Public Health or Nursing, with MPH preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years supervision and management
skills and experience with a focus in TB/HIV program.
- Demonstrated computer skills in MS Office
Suite applications, including Word, Excel, and Access.
- Experience in group facilitation/team building
and/or organizational development desirable.
- Experience working with civil society
organizations and/or government agencies.
- Experience in providing trainings to health
workers and CSO staff Fluency in English and local Arabic language is
required.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently
outside of her/his duty station.

Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist

The Monitoring and Evaluation
(M&E) Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of a
plan to monitor progress, evaluate effectiveness, and disseminate results of
the Project activities and innovations.
The M&E Specialist has primary
responsibility for developing the project M&E plan and identifying M&E
needs, for daily monitoring and improvement of the project performance.
S/he will also be responsible for the
design and maintenance of data collection systems and ensuring that all
necessary information, from both routine reporting as well as from ad hoc data
collection efforts and special studies, is collected and analyzed.
Under supervisor’s direction, s/he
participates in using the information to guide internal project planning and
inform external partners about project activities and accomplishments. project
needs and direction.
The jobholder will design with the
team and conduct the baseline study to provide to the project Director and the
management team with accurate data that could be used to revise if necessary
the anticipated target for the Intermediate Results and End of project results.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a University degree in
statistics, demography, or related field, or equivalent experience in
monitoring and evaluation.
- Significant and demonstrated experience in
developing M&E programs and systems, conducting operations research
and management information systems design and management, or equivalent
experience in related areas.
- Significant work experience in the development
and analysis as well as use of health, education and decentralization
information systems and indicators.
- At least 4 - 6 years of experience conducting
monitoring and evaluation for TB activities or related areas.
- Excellent written and oral communication
skills (English) with experience in presenting to groups.
- Demonstrated ability to write reports and
publishable papers. International publications preferred.
- Significant experience living and working in a
developing country.
Senior Communication Specialist

The Communications Specialist is
responsible for the development and dissemination of project literature,
including drafting regular and ad hoc reporting to USAID.
S/he is responsible for capturing,
packaging, synthesizing and sharing project successes and ensuring that these
are disseminated through USAID, the MSH web site, Friday Forward, and the MSH
eNewsletter, conference presentations, case studies, and posts on the MSH blog,
Global Health Impact.
S/he will increase the profile of the
project’s work by writing at least one success story from the field each month
and share it with the CHS Communications Manager.
S/he will also provide ongoing
capacity-building support to project staff on communications and knowledge
exchange tools, templates, resources and approaches.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Journalism,
Communications with 4-6 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation will
be an added advantage.
- Experience in working with a busy
international organization preferred.
- Fluent in writing and speaking English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated
ability to interact professionally with clients and stakeholders.
- Excellent communications skills, as well as a
concrete appreciation for the need to disseminate project results to a

The Senior Technical Advisor / Deputy
Project Director

This position will be responsible for overall day to day technical implementation of the project.

This position will be responsible for overall day to day technical implementation of the project.
S/he will also focus on project,
partner, and donor coordination with a strong advocacy role.
Together with the Project Director
and communication specialist, the jobholder will draw communication strategies,
plans and advocacy of the project.
The DCOP will also work closely with
monitoring and evaluation officer to produce quarterly reports and support the
M& E role.
She/he will serve as a resource and
team member to improve staff technical capacity of the project and will work
closely with members of a multidisciplinary team to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
of interventions in MSH’s CTB project.
She/he will be expected to employ a
“hands-on” technical approach to MSH’s CTB projects and National TB
Programs.
She/he is responsible for assuring a strong linkage between the public health and population approaches of technical assistance in TB and TB-HIV/AIDS and the development of strategic and operational plans for capacity building and access programming within country team.
She/he will also provide technical
assistance in coordinating other activities as assigned by the Chief of
Party.
She/ he will be expected to maintain
MSH’s professional and procurement integrity standards in all activities.
The DCOP will liaise with the COMU
director and COP to ensure close management and supervision of the
administrative team.
Qualifications
- First degree in medicine with postgraduate
qualifications in public health or other related field.
- 7-10 years experience in TB control with
experience in implementation of the Stop TB Strategy. Specific orientation
on DOTS, TB/HIV and PMDT programming and implementation will be an added
advantage.
- Demonstrated success in achieving results
leading a National TB Control Program or TB projects.
- Understanding of current key TB, TB/HIV
control and MDR/XDR TB issues essential with recognized expertise in TB,
TB/HIV and/or MDR/XDR TB programming, national level in developing
countries essential.
- Demonstrated experience in working with
Ministry of Health and other officials from the public, private and NGO
sector
- Excellent oral and written communication
skills; as well as computer skills.
- Minimum of two (2) years hands on experience
preferably with USAID or other donor funded projects.
