USAID Transition Initiatives for
Stabilization (TIS) Program: The Transition
Initiatives for Stabilization (TIS) program is funded by USAID and responds to
the complex crisis that has evolved in Somalia.
The overall program goal is to
mitigate conflict; to promote stability and community cohesion, and to
strengthen citizens’ relationships with government officials.
TIS implements quick impact
activities linked to longer-term stabilization goals.
The TIS program is currently seeking a skilled, diplomatic, effective, and highly motivated Grants Assistant to join our Nairobi based grants team.
Grant Assistant Qualifications:
- University degree in Political Science,
International Relations, International Development or relevant field.
- One to two years of progressively responsible
professional experience required.
- Experience working with USAID or an
international donor is required.
- Experience in program management, reporting;
auditing and/or budgeting required.
- Must be detail-oriented, proactive, and a
problem solver
- Must be flexible, willing to perform assigned
and additional duties and work irregular hours under unpredictable
conditions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability
to manage a diverse range of professional relationships is essential.
- Able to multitasks and prioritize heavy
workload
- Fluency in written and spoken English required
- Fluency in Somali language required.
- Interest and availability to travel throughout
Somalia.
