Job Description: As part of the credit sales team, an invoicing
clerk is majorly responsible for processing the orders of credit customers by
procuring price approvals from the marketing and operations director, checking
on the customer accounts and printing out the invoices in a timely manner.
He will also be responsible for
picking orders of customers that prefer to visit the office and those that
call.
General Requirements
The invoicing clerk must keep abreast with the general market trends with regards to demand for goods and the price changes, that is, he must be able to sell at all times.
He/she will also be required to have good product knowledge and convince customers to purchase as many product lines as possible.
He/ she will also be expected to advise the marketing and operations manager on the general stock quantities of product and the ideal stock levels.
Specific Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities
- Issue invoices to customers
- Issue monthly customer statements
- Update customer files with issued invoices
- Process credit memos
- Update the customer master file with contact
information including the legal business name, Personal Identification
Number (PIN), Tax registration number for incorporated companies, the
current phone number & email address and customer physical address.
- Track exceptions between the sales delivery
log and invoice register
- Enter invoices into customer invoicing system
- Procure sales orders in the office by use of
phone and convincing the visiting customers to purchase
- Works as part of the sales team
- Submit invoices by electronic data where
applicable
- Sales process management
- Any other role assigned from time to time
Profile
The ideal candidates will be:

- Holders of a Diploma in Business Management or
related studies
- Must have at least 3 years practical
experience in the distribution or manufacturing industry
- Demonstrate proficiency in various computer
packages
- Good interpersonal skills
- Holder of Kenya Accounting Technician
Certificate (KATC)
- Valid driving License
- Good leadership and interpersonal skills
- Excellent Customer relations
- Integrity and self confidence
- The ability and desire to sell
- Excellent communication and presentation
skills
- Strong commercial awareness
- A confident and determined approach
- The ability to work both independently and as
part of a team
- The capacity to flourish in a competitive
environment
- Fluency in a local language, that is Teso,
Luhya, Luo, will be an added advantage
- Willingness to work under pressure and
extended hours
