Accountant / Finance Officer Job in Kenya

The Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority (UFAA) is a State Corporation established under the National Treasury pursuant to the Unclaimed Financial Assets Act No. 40 of 2011.

The primary mandate of the Authority is to obtain unclaimed financial assets from the holders of such assets on behalf of the Government, safeguard and re-unite the assets with their rightful owners. 

UFAA invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following position:
 
Accountant / Finance Officer

Job Profile
 
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Accountant, will be responsible for:
  • Preparing payment vouchers in accordance with the laid down rules and regulations;
  • General accounting work involving book-keeping and routine accounting entries;
  • Controlling and Maintaining all Ledgers and Cash Books
  • Providing comprehensive efficient banking services ensuring robust internal controls and up to date systems.
  • Timely and accurate preparation of financial reports and statements.
  • Monitoring utilization of budgeted/disbursed funds.
  • Controlling and maintaining staff imprest and advance records.
  • Timely payments to suppliers and staff.
  • Receipting, banking, accounting and reconciliation of revenue collected.
  • Filing of returns such as PAYE, VAT, NSSF, and NHIF.
  • Maintaining payment voucher registers
Person Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business (Accounting/ Finance) from a university recognized by the Commission of University Education.
  • CPA III (K)
  • At least 3 years relevant work experience
  • Membership to a relevant professional body
Terms and Conditions
  • Successful candidates for the above positions will be offered a competitive remuneration package.
  • Appointments will be on permanent terms subject to satisfactory performance.
  • All applicants should attach the following documents with their applications: clearance certificates from Kenya Revenue Authority, Higher Education Loans Board, Credit Reference Bureau, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, and a certificate of good conduct from the Criminal Investigations Departments.
