Our client is a fast food chain hotel specializing in serving indigenous organic dishes operating 24 hours at the Nairobi CBD downtown area. They are currently expanding to be able to meet the ever rising demand for organic meals.

In line with the business demands driven by rapid growth, they are looking for a qualified, highly competent, talented and results driven individual to fill the position of a Restaurant Manager.


Job Purpose / Summary:
 The job holder will ensure that the restaurant operates efficiently and profitably while maintaining high standards of food, service, health and safety.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
 
Business activities
  • Taking responsibility for the business performance of the restaurant.
  • Analysing and planning restaurant sales levels and profitability.
  • Organising marketing activities, such as promotional events and discount schemes.
  • Preparing reports at the end of the shift/week, including staff control, food control and sales.
  • Creating and executing plans for department sales, profit and staff development.
  • Setting budgets and/or agreeing them with senior management.
  • Planning and coordinating menus.
Front-of-house:
  • Coordinating the entire operation of the restaurant during scheduled shifts.
  • Managing staff and providing them with feedback.
  • Responding to customer complaints.
  • Ensuring that all employees adhere to the company's uniform standards.
  • Meeting and greeting customers and organising table reservations.
  • Advising customers on menu and wine choice.
  • Recruiting, training and motivating staff.
  • Organising and supervising the shifts of kitchen, waiting and cleaning staff.
Housekeeping:
  • Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety.
  • Checking stock levels and ordering supplies.
  • Preparing cash drawers and providing petty cash as required.
  • Helping in any area of the restaurant when circumstances dictate.
Minimum Requirements
  • Diploma in Hotel Management and Human Resource.
  • A valid up to date certificate of good conduct.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience working in the hospitality industry.
  • Customer service oriented with excellent training skills.
  • Good leadership and influence skills geared towards business growth, staff motivation and customer loyalty.
  • Team player and relationship builder.
  • Ambitious and self-driven individual.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to network and develop

Job Purpose / Summary: The job holder will ensure that the ordered dishes are prepared according to the clients specifications while upholding food, service, health and safety standards in the kitchen at all time.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepares all foods in accordance to standard recipes and as specified by the guest.
  • Oversees food preparation and kitchen staff to ensure quality production.
  • Visually inspects, selects and uses only food items of the highest quality in the preparation of all menu items.
  • Checks and controls the proper storage of product and portion control.
  • Ensure compliance to all food production SOPs.
  • Food production cost control, menu and food preparation and
  • Keeps all refrigeration, storage, and working areas in clean, working condition to comply with health department regulations.
  • Ensures all equipment in working areas is clean and in proper working conditions.
  • Maintain overall cleanliness of kitchen.
  • Schedules all kitchen and serving staff.
  • Conduct an inventory of all food, beverage and kitchen supplies.
  • Manages and maintains food and beverage budget.
  • Responsible for all maintenance, set up, food production and quality control of all foods and beverages.
  • Ensure the day to day operations within the kitchen are well managed and in an orderly manner.
Minimum Requirements
  • Diploma in food production.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in the hospitality industry.
  • Ability to prepare different indigenous delicacies.
  • Team player.
  • Self-driven individual.

Vacancy Announcement:Cooks

In line with the business demands driven by rapid growth, they are looking for a qualified, highly competent, talented and results driven individual to fill the position of a Cook.

Job Purpose / Summary: The job holder will ensure that the ordered dishes are prepared according to the clients specifications while upholding food, service, health and safety standards in the kitchen at all time.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follow sanitation guidelines.
  • Adhere to safety procedures.
  • Uphold cost-cutting measures when cooking.
  • Report to work on time.
  • Stock and rotate food.
  • Handle equipment, appliances, small wares, supplies, and tools
  • Organize and prepare for your shift.
  • Adhere to operating procedures when in the kitchen
  • Prepare and cook food items.
  • Perform ongoing duties.
  • Process and manage food tickets/orders.
  • Track food quality
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and managers.
  • Notify the Server of completed orders
  • Perform additional tasks requested by your manager/supervisor
  • Perform closing procedures before departing from work/shift
Minimum Requirements
  • Diploma in food production.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in the hospitality industry.
  • Ability to prepare different indigenous delicacies.
  • Team player.
  • Self-driven individual.
