Oracle Database Administrator
Ref: HRD/ODA/01/15
Reporting to the ICT Manager, the
successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the health,
optimization and availability of the Hospital’s Oracle database including:-
- Managing and supporting high performance,
availability and mission critical database platform for the ERP.
- Implementing database security policies that
are consistent with laid security guidelines.
- Ensuring appropriate database backup and
recovery strategies to ensure optima system availability.
- Incorporating best practice data base
procedures.
Qualification, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or
related field.
- Must possess Oracle certification.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of database
high availability and security technologies
- Experienced in support of large Oracle and
mission critical databases in a Unix environment.
- 3 years experience in ICT one of which should
be in Oracle Database support.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving

Senior Systems Administrator - Network
Ref: HRD/ODA/01/15
Reporting to the ICT Manager, the
successful candidate will be responsible for technical support of the
LAN/WAN/Wireless networks including:-
- Assisting in planning and implementing ICT
strategy for the hospital that ensures effective use of the ICT systems.
- Supervising Systems Administrators handling
ICT infrastructure support
- Monitoring 3rd party Service Providers as per
SLA
- Technical support of the Local/Wide
Area/Wireless Networks.
- Evaluating network performance issues
including availability, utilization, throughput and latency.
- Implementing ICT security network policies and
procedures.
- Ensuring that the Hospital’s ICT environment
is secure.
- Installation, configuration and testing of
equipment.
- Maintaining network performance by performing
network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning.
Qualification, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or
related field.
- CCNP.
- ICT Security certification and experience with
IP telephony systems (VoIP) will be added advantage.
- 7 years hands on experience, two of which
should be at supervisory level.

Chief Security Officer
Ref: HRD/CSO/01/15
Reporting to the Chief Executive
Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the
provision of effective security for the Hospital including the following:-
- Designing and implementing security policies,
systems and procedures that facilitate security of patients, staff,
visitors, property and facilities at the Hospital.
- Providing leadership to both internal and
contracted security staff.
- Ensuring service levels agreements with contracted
service providers are met.
- Conducting regular reviews of security
requirements and providing appropriate recommendations.
- Liaising with government security agencies as
necessary.
- Participating in corporate risk management
programs.
- Participating in implementing occupational
safety programs such as fire preparedness.
- Carrying out independent investigations into
intended and actual breaches of security and taking comprehensive
corrective action.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Degree in security management, criminology or
military science or; any degree plus a diploma in criminology or security
operations.
- Seven (7) years relevant work experience,
three (3) of which must have been at leadership level in a large
organization.

Technical and Facilities Manager
Ref: HRD/TM/01/15
Reporting to the Operations Director,
the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring quality and cost
effective execution of defined construction and refurbishment.
Specific duties include:-
- Providing effective linkages and interface
between the Hospital and contractors on project phases including start-up,
procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning.
- Tracking projects against schedules, budgets
and phase gate review objectives.
- Developing and implementing recovery plans for
off-schedule and unanticipated occurrences.
- Reviewing works and documentation for
compliance with statutory and Hospital standards.
- Day-to-day monitoring and evaluation of
project activities as guided by project work plan and recommending
adjustments as necessary.
- Identifying project scope changes and ensuring
job change notices are submitted and approved before implementation.
- Ensuring health, safety and environmental
requirements are met by contractors.

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
- Degree in Architecture, Quantity Survey,
Construction Engineering, Land Economics or, Building Economics.
- Diploma in Project Management
- Up to date registration with respective
professional body.

- Proven track record in managing multiple
and/or complex projects.

Assistant Engineer – Plant

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful applicant will lead the plant and civil works team in the following amongst others:-
- Ensuring buildings, plant, machinery and
equipment are maintained to optimum levels of serviceability at all times.
- Designing and implementing preventive
maintenance programs.
- Facilitating corrective repairs and
maintenance.
- Participating in the implementation of
construction projects.
- Tracking equipment usage in various
departments.
- Inventory management for all equipment and
repair parts.
- Facilitating energy management and operational
cost control programs
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
- Higher National Diploma in mechanical or
electrical engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- At least 5 years experience

Maintenance Manager
Ref: HRD/HE/01/15
Reporting to the Operations Director,
the successful candidate will provide leadership for the biomedical engineering
and infrastructure management of the Hospital including the following:-
- Ensuring all maintenance, biomedical, mechanical,
electrical, and civil engineering operations within the Hospital run at
optimal level.
- Developing and monitoring the annual
maintenance budgets.
- Developing and implementing planned
preventative maintenance programmes.
- Participating in re-call to work service and
attending to emergency breakdowns.
- Ensuring all plant and equipment are
maintained in optimal working condition.
- Supervising and implementing all construction
related capital projects.
- Liaising with all external construction
contractors working in the Hospital.
- Facilitating the purchase and stocking of
appropriate spares/ equipment.
- Providing leadership in training and
continuous professional development activities within the Department.
- Ensuring that the Hospital’s engineering
functions comply with medical, certification, legal and safety standards.
Qualifications, Experience and
Skills:
- Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical
Engineering or equivalent.
- Registration with the Engineers Registration
Board.
- Six years progressive work experience in a
busy service environment.
- Demonstrable leadership skills.
