Role Profile: M-KOPA is seeking a skilled and motivated Software Tester/ Quality Assurance Officer to help in the process of developing the growing M-KOPA system.

Skills & Experience
  • Developing a deep understanding of M-KOPA’s systems
  • Rigorous testing of M-KOPA’s application and channeling feedback to the development team in a clear, structured way
  • Analyzing test output, identifying discrepancies and clearly documenting defects
  • Writing test scripts to be used in the testing process
  • Working with the Quality Assurance team to ensure that M-KOPA’s system meet the set quality measures
  • Building and refining M-KOPA’s testing tools and methodologies
  • Over 3 years of experience in a similar position
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong testing skills with the desire and ability to find bugs before others do
  • Experience using software testing tools
  • Experience building and working with automated testing
  • Strong knowledge of software development concepts
  • Ability to differentiate between the developer’s and tester’s mindset

Position Title:Firmware Developer

Skills & Experience: 
Crucial:
  • Education in electrical engineering, computer science, or electronics or relevant credentials
  • Optimization of the hardware/firmware interaction during new product development.
  • Exposure programming in C
  • Willing to travel sporadically outside Nairobi
Plus:
  • Experience analyzing and debugging hardware and firmware interaction at the PCB level.
  • Extensive experience developing firmware for embedded hardware in C (for PIC18F family) and in assembly.
  • Programming experience with MySQL and the ability to read and modify circuit schematics in an ECAD program (for example, EAGLE) would be an extra advantage

Position Title: Area Sales Manager

Role Profile: M-KOPA is seeking energetic and experienced Area Sales managers to manage a growing dealer network in new regions of Kenya.
 
Successful applicants for this role will be commercially-focused sales professionals with a proven ability to manage local networks of businesses in a related sector such as financial services, mobile money, airtime, consumer goods, or other goods and services across Kenya.

Successful applicants for this role will have a career sales background, a proven track record of managing 15-20 full-time employees and show strength in recruitment, training and team building
 
Key Accountabilities
  • Work directly for the Head of Sales to grow the M-KOPA Service Center network in a new region.
  • Recruit and train a network of Sales Representatives in the new region.
  • Take responsibility for Sales Representative’s performance and sales within defined region, reporting to Head of Sales.
  • Perform Sales Representative management including activation and merchandising, training, and marketing support activities.
  • Manage stock and deliveries to the Sales Representative network ensuring that products are consistently available.
  • Conduct regular field visits to Service Centers to ensure standards in a range of areas including merchandising, accounting, and other performance measures.
  • Develop new sales channels in the region (eg SACCOS, schools, other groups).
Incumbent Requirements
  • 3+ year’s experience in a related sales field. eg consumer goods, financial services, mobile money or other product/service in East Africa.
  • Proven ability to build and manage a network of small retailers in rural and urban settings
  • Experience managing inventory and stock across a network of 40+ dealers/agents.
  • Direct experience planning and executing an Area Sales consumer marketing strategy focused on below the line activities.
  • Knowledge of the local business environment in your chosen region.
  • Excellent computer literacy and communication skills across people from different backgrounds.
  • English and Kiswahili fluency both written and spoken.
  • Tertiary qualifications from a recognized institution in a business related field may be a bonus if accompanied by relevant experience.
