Job Title: Head, Business Change Management

The Role: As Head of Business Change Management, the role holder will provide leadership and champion business change and innovation in the Bank with greater contribution to the business re-engineering and change process.

The successful candidate will be expected to:
  • Work with strategic business units to examine current systems and processes, propose changes and amendments to continuously ensure that the Bank’s processes are efficient, minimizes costs as well as inherent risks.
  • Proactively analyze the Bank’s strategic objectives and regulatory requirements to identify the requisite changes to be applied to the banking platform and the resultant impact and develop an implementation proposal/plan
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures that take into account the policy governing the respective business area, functionalities of the application system to be used and the control objectives of every guideline/regulation that the Bank Users must comply with as well as improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Bank’s operating model ensuring all roles are designed optimally.
  • Translate all business requirements into technical language and ensure that the technical team deliver and exceed as per business needs as well as provide project planning, milestone management, scope management, resource forecasting, financial management and change management across the product portfolio.
  • Undertake diagnostic work to understand specific business issues or problems in greater depth and develop comprehensive assessments and business solutions to meet them.
  • Ensure all product development undertaken is done in an efficient and timely manner with proper cost-benefit analysis/synopsis of all proposed product developments with full mitigation of all potential risks for both proposed product developments and all other bank products
  • Carry out appropriate research and product analysis as well as continuously monitor industry developments and customer expectations to ensure that the Bank keeps abreast of new developments in a bid to counter competition and grow the Bank’s market share.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and other related technical fields with a minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in project management & process re-engineering in the banking industry.
  • Professional Certification – Project Management Course, Prince II certification
  • Should display understanding of the latest developments and emerging trends in the market place with regard to banking solutions.
  • Good Business knowledge and awareness as well as a business development mind with ability to fill gaps in the market by developing project proposals to fill in the identified needs
  • Should be results-oriented, possess the ability to work under pressure and deliver on time
  • A deep and wide understanding of ICT financial delivery systems
  • Demonstrable strong stakeholder management skills and leadership skills in a similar role is preferred
  • Excellent analytical & problem solving skills
  • Advanced report writing and presentation skills

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

We are looking for a dynamic, creative and self-driven experienced professional who will be responsible for the construction costing and contracting for the Bank.
 
The Role: As a Quantity Surveyor, the role holder will own the construction and costing process by preparing bills of quantities for the bank’s projects and advising cost estimates for the designed projects for the bank. 

The successful jobholder will be expected to:


  • Make budgetary recommendations for construction, refurbishment or leasing of premises as well as develop cost estimates for upcoming bank projects
  • Prepare contractual documents for the various projects as guided by The Architects and Quantity Surveyors Act (Chapter 525) to be signed by all the parties i.e. the bank, contractor etc.
  • Prepare blank bills of quantities for tendering which will be given to the contractors for tenders and also review bills of quantities prepared by the consultants for projects which are being supervised by external consultants to ensure they are cost effective for the bank
  • Prepare analysis of the tenders after opening of the tender documents i.e. for the projects which are handled in house where no external Quantity Surveyor is involved.
  • Prepare valuations for in-house projects, evaluate and monitor payments to contractors at various stages of construction.
  • Carry out financial appraisal of projects on regular basis to ensure they conform to the approved amounts which are within budget and process project payments for consultants and contractors
  • Carry out site re-measurements to reconfirm the actual financial positions for a project on completion of the same.
  • Develop annual and half yearly capital budgets in respect to construction projects
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

The successful jobholder will be required to possess the following qualifications:-
  • A Degree in Building Economics
  • At least 2 years experience in general property management.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations as stipulated in the Law.
  • Good understanding of the contract & land law, and arbitration related to building construction.
  • Good understanding of project analysis and viability
  • Travelling to distant branches when required (Must have a valid driving licence)
  • Potential extended working hours to ensure jobs get completed on schedule and to specification

Job Title: Head, Transactional Banking

The Role: As Head of Transactional Banking –the role holder will own and provide cash management solutions to the customers, ensuring that the Bank’s Transactional Banking products take the lead in the market and account for a major income stream in the Bank.
Specifically, the successful candidate will be required to:


  • Execute the bank’s Transactional Banking Strategy and bench mark with other players in the industry as well as deliver the revenue ambition by growing transaction volumes and commissions
  • In line with the bank strategy of “customer centric” work closely with customer segments to analyze customer portfolios to identify customer needs.
  • Gather market intelligence on changing customer needs and develop products to match the need, in order to generate profitable business for the Bank as well as identify market trends and drive migration of best practice
  • Drive engagement and partnership with stakeholders i.e Channel Heads, Segment Heads, Technology and Operations and Financial Unit to facilitate client focus
  • Leverage group sales tools and techniques to identify opportunities for new/incremental business; client planning, client maps, working capital analyzers and pipeline management to achieve sales/revenue targets
  • Maintain a detailed and up-to-date knowledge of the Bank’s comprehensive product capabilities and their application to customer’s needs, and use this knowledge in structuring of solutions
  • Continuously contribute to systems and service improvement through continuous reviews including risk reviews and drive product launches/sales in order to exceed revenue, volume targets and grow the Bank’s market share
Minimum Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a business related field with at least 5 years’ experience in sales in a banking environment with exposure to Cash Management Solutions
  • Expert knowledge of trade, supply chain, cash management and securities services products available with the ability to translate these into increased revenues
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills; ability to communicate with all levels in an organization both internally and externally
  • Open minded, good listener, flexible with “ think out of the box” mentality
  • Disciplined approach to deal execution/client follow-up

  • Drive & deliver exceptional sales performance by identifying and meeting Executive Service customer needs through selling & cross selling of bank retail products & services
  • Own and manage Executive Service customer experience, queries and complaints by providing appropriate interventions in a timely manner
  • Own and manage product & channel sales targets to contribute towards the Executive Service centres sales objectives
  • Own the banking hall experience and ensure that customers are directed to the most appropriate service delivery channel to meet their needs
  • Set the service excellence standards for the Executive Service proposition in all service centres
  • Champion world class customer service practices and ensure adherence to Co-op Bank’s service excellence standards
  • Ensure compliance with operations risk & rigour requirements
  • Provide leadership and build effective relationships with Executive Service staff in the bank branches and key support functions
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

The successful jobholder will be required to possess the following qualifications:-
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a business related field with at least 3-5 years’ experience in a banking environment in customer facing roles
  • Excellent planning and organization skills as well as be an excellent communicator
  • Have a track record of demonstrable networking, selling and influencing skills
  • Demonstrate a solid awareness in operational risk and quality in driving service excellence
  • Must have worked in team oriented environments and with good relationship management skills
  • Demonstrable leadership skills in a similar role is preferred.
