Job Title: Project Manager – Database Development
About M-KOPA Solar: M-KOPA Solar, headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, is
the global leader of "pay-as-you-go" energy for off-grid customers.

launch (Oct 2012), M-KOPA has connected over 100,000 homes in East Africa to

leading mobile network operators including Safaricom in Kenya, and is busy

Position Title: Project Manager – Database Development
Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Year
Overall Purpose: Primary ongoing responsibility is for management
of projects. Focuses on meeting project commitments, including communications
with users, stakeholders etc.
As assigned, lead or assist in the
planning, implementation and introduction of projects for new systems,
improvements and other technologies.
Education:
- Undergraduate degree in IT, Computer Science
or any other relevant degree from a recognized university
- MCSE certification: Business Intelligence is
an added advantage
- Certificate in Project Management is an added
advantage
Experience:
- At least 3 years’ experience in performing in
a similar role (inclusive of Project Management)
- Experience in SQL Server T-SQL database
development (data modeling, stored procedures, functions and query
optimization)
- Experience in SSIS and ETL development
- Ability to create complex, high performance
stored procedures and views in SQL Server
- Ability to translate complex business
requirements into technical solutions
- Working knowledge in data modeling
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and work
closely with M-KOPA staff to determine needs and assist with systems
requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication
skills
- Able to successfully complete tasks with
limited supervision
