Our client is one of the leading and most respected Security Solutions providers for a wide host of clients in diverse industries in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda. They offer manned guarding, K-9 guarding, investigations, VIP protection, Fire Services and Cash-in-transit. 

They seek to hire an Accountant with proven Debt Collection Experience to fill the position of Male Debt Collector.

Job Purpose:
 The incumbent will be responsible for all the company’s debt collection and related accounting processes to ensure that all debts owed to the company for services rendered and goods sold are paid in time. 


This position requires a flexible and result oriented individual with a riding license or willing to learn.

Job Responsibilities:-
  • Collection of company’s debts from various clients
  • Managing the debtor’s book to ensure all debts are settled on time.
  • Communication of any client’s complains and instructions to the office
  • Follow up on client payment date through telephone calls or visitations to ensure prompt payment
  • Preparation of the age wise monthly report with reasons why any balance have moved if any and action to be taken
  • Ensure timely allocation of payments as per the debtors’ list and updating the debtors’ record.
  • Follow up on clients who are unable to pay and take relevant actions plus allocation of outstanding dues.
  • Sorting out client’s invoices, statements and credit notes and putting them in envelops for posting and delivery
  • Responsible for proper accounting for payment and cash allocated plus preparing a daily report
  • Prepare daily allocation plan and hand over daily allocation report on a daily basis
  • Reconciliation of client accounts in cases of dispute
  • Follow up on customers who have issued bouncing cheques
  • Ensure all Client Account queries are addressed and sorted effectively within 24hrs.
  • Be able to ride a motor bike or willing to learn.
  • And any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned to you from time to time.
Requirements
  • The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or its equivalent
  • Should have 4+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation in the debt collection department
  • Must have proven experience as a debt collector.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are Certified Public Accountants or Certified Management Accountant designations.
  • Should have 2+ years’ Supervisory Experience
  • Must have excellent analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations, procedural documents, meeting facilitation, etc.
  • Effective and persuasive presentation skills on complex topics to top management, ownership, and partners
  • Able to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations and tax guidelines
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software
  • Able to create reports and presentations, including visual data analysis
  • Able to manage projects from inception through execution
  • Able to coordinate tasks across various branches and subsidiaries
  • Have a riding license or is willing to learn.
