Compliance / Surveillance Officer

Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Develop and implement Regulations to govern compliance & regulation both locally and internationally
  • Identify, build and sustain linkages with of sources of information on legal & illegal commodity deals
  • Collect, interrogate, compile and analyze intelligence information on commodity dealings including cyber fraud, and report on the same
  • Ensure compliance with trade, import and export regulations of commodities
  • Undertake physical examination, verification and approval of imports and exports
  • Undertake investigations in liaison with relevant authorities and submit weekly intelligence reports to the supervisor
  • Attend court sessions and give evidence in regulation and compliance matters.
  • Any other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by the immediate supervisor
Requirements for appointment
  • A Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice, Police Science, Social science, law, Information Technology or a related field from a reputable institution.
  • A certificate in basic investigations, fraud investigation & prosecution, Criminal investigation course.
  • Training in investigations or intelligence from a reputable security firm or National Police Service.
  • 5 years’ hands on experience in intelligence operations or in a similar & comparable position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint and other computer applications.
