AIC Kijabe Hospital a church based hospital is seeking to fill the following position:
 
Risk Management Officer
 
Purpose: To glorify God by designing a framework for identifying, measuring and mitigating risk for the hospital. It also involves managing general liability and risk exposures for the hospital. 

It ensures that the Hospital’s areas of risks are identified, assessed and mitigating factors recommended for appropriate action.        
   
Main Responsibilities
  • Develop Enterprise Risk Management strategies to ensure mitigation of risk and compliance
  • Develop annual audit plans to assess the organization risk and compliance levels Develop risk and compliance   audit programs and monitors its implementation
  • Ensuring KH’S compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure the enforcement of risk management policies and limits to close significant gaps in risk management capabilities.
  • Assess and evaluate all organization’s business plans / projects / contracts / services to protect the organization from risk
  • Evaluate all operational procedures and processes to determine the level of operational risk and recommend mitigating factors for adoption.
  • Evaluate systems to ensure a robust MIS to identify, monitor, manage and control organization risk.
  • Undertake audit of high risk business units/areas to mitigate against likely incidences, minimize impact and make recommendations
  • Assist and guide users to develop and implement self assessment checklist in order to minimize levels of risk and ensure compliance
  • Evaluates all security facilities, equipment and other related installations in all Hospital sites and make recommendations where appropriate.
  • Prepare and oversee the implementation of the section annual budget
Minimum acceptable qualifications & experience
  • University Degree in Business or Law
Professional Qualifications and affiliations     
  • Certification in Risk Management
  • Professional qualification either in CIA, CFA, CPA (K) or ACCA or KSL will be an added advantage
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills   
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with various levels of management and staff.
  • Organizational and Planning Skills, 
  • Proficiency in planning, coordinating and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Should have practiced in a similar position for not less than 2 years in a busy organization

Program Officer (TAS Lead)
 
Purpose: To glorify God by providing leadership in the community and offering compassionate health care to those suffering the effects of HIV infection.

Main Responsibilities
 
1.  Establishing, Promoting and sustaining linkages between the community and the clinic
  • Making sure that community reports including adherence issues are communicated appropriately and documented.
  • Form linkages between the LPTF, the community and other stakeholders that will be patient focused.
  • Help define geographical catchments area.
  • Identify CHWs to be trained together with the other community nurses, and conduct the trainings Help establish support groups together with other community staff.
  • Help identify and establish satellite clinics sites in the community.
  • Together with other staff help patients establish support groups.
2. Coordinating and supervising
  • Organize, coordinate and facilitate community activities. 
  • Coordinating community outreach and mobilization activities e.g. support groups, trainings, meetings, referrals and defaulters tracing, HIV testing and give feedback to the program coordinator.
  • Coordinate and supervise community staff working under him/her.
  • Ensure community staffs have the necessary requirement for work including finance.
  • Ensure accountability as per CHAK-CHAP budget and Kijabe Hospital policies.
  • Review and analyze adherence officers and social workers reports including their daily activity reports, enrollments and monthly activities in the region.
3. Home based Care, adherence support and counseling
  • Make sure adherence issues are followed up in the community.
  • Ensure priority home visits /patients follow ups are done and feedback given to the clinician.
  • Make sure support groups are well co-ordinate to enhance adherence.
  • Provide home based adherence support and counseling.
  • Refer patients to clinic for enrolment.
  • Conduct Home- based testing for family members.
  • Assess for O.Is in the homes, treat minor illnesses and refer difficult cases accordingly.
  • Look out for drug related side effect, manage or refer accordingly.
  • Ensure initial and follow up home visits are done by adherence officers.
4. Provide timely and quality regional progress reports as per donor requirements
  • CBTS report
  • PWP report
  • Monthly activity reports.
  • Others as requested by the donor or the program manager.
  • Teens psychosocial template
  • Any other report as deemed necessary by the program manager.
5. Resource management
  • Proper reconciliation of advanced funds within the agreed period of time.
  • Proper use of the motorbikes, community kits and other program resources.
  • Supervising the adherence officers and the social workers on proper utilization of resources.
Minimum acceptable qualifications & experience:
  • Diploma in nursing (KRCHN) or a degree in community development and social work with basic HIV training.
  • Dedicated and highly motivated professional.
  • Desire to see CHAK team fulfill their purpose.
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Has previously worked in the community as a HIV community nurse or a social worker.
  • Three years experience of working within HIV-related field
  • Experience of teaching / mentorship.

Assistant Manager - Procurement
 
Purpose: Under the general direction of the Supply Chain Manager, provide procurement and logistics services, including but not limited to, procuring goods and services in accordance with KH policy and standards; providing guidance, advice and support to ensure procurement processes are effective, efficient, and ethical and provide the best possible value to KH;  supporting the Supply Chain Manager in the discharge of her/his responsibilities and development of new tools; and performing other duties, as assigned.

Position Objectives:


  • Develop organizational procurement capacity.
  • Ensure procurement activities support the delivery of Kijabe Hospital’s strategic objectives.
  • Develop monitor and update contracting and procurement systems and processes so staff have access to information and advice which is effective, meets probity standards and complies with relevant legislation, regulation and best practice.
  • Facilitate expenditure reviews to identify opportunities to add value through improved procurement.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure competent quality execution of all regular purchasing duties and administrative works.
  • Maintain complete updated purchasing records/data and pricing in the system.
  • Execution and monitoring of all regular purchasing duties.
  • Support relevant departments with quotations for the purpose of tenders.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of purchase orders and documents in accordance with KH policies and procedures.
  • Source, select and negotiate for the best purchase package in terms of quality, price, terms, deliveries and services with suppliers.
  • Negotiate for best purchasing package (in terms of quality, price, term, delivery and service) with suppliers and sub-contractors assigned.
  • Source for new parts, suppliers or sub-contractors when the need arises.
  • Provides required written authorizations, and prepares/issues instructions and  import/export documentation to suppliers, freight forwarders, and/or carriers, to ensure timely and safe arrival of goods, and compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations, Customs regulations etc.,  and  takes necessary action to resolve problems/disputes.
  • Establish and maintain a contract register
  • Develop and maintain a preferred supplier database and ensure information is available to staff.
  • Managing the record keeping requirements of the tender and contracting processes.
  • Develop and maintain a reporting system for contractor and supplier performance.
  • Develop and maintain a reporting system which measures the contribution of the procurement process.
  • Other duties within the scope of the employee’s skills, competence and training as directed.
Minimum acceptable qualifications & experience:       
  • First degree in Purchasing and Supplies or any other business related degree.
  • Professional certification in Purchasing and Supplies.
  • 3 years purchasing experience in a busy organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and focused on service delivery.
  • Integrity and attention to detail.
  • Be able to work unsupervised and meet set deadlines.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Computer literacy essential.
  • Working knowledge of ERP.
