Our client is a well established international organisation in the field of international philanthropy. It provides charitable entities with strategic advice, and manages the awarding and monitoring of grants to charitable projects. 

They have operations in 12 offices, spread over Asia, Western and Eastern Europe, North, Central and South America. It has loo members of staff across the world with a Head office in Europe. 

The organisation is now looking to expand its operations to Kenya.
 
It is in this regard that the organisation is seeking to recruit highly driven and results oriented individuals to fill the following two roles:
 
1. Project Assistant, Anglophone countries (Ref: AP /10/14)
 
2. Project Assistant, Francophone countries (Ref: FPA/10/14)
 
Both positions will be based in Kenya and will work closely with the Grant Managers for each of the regions, as well as the Regional Director.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Handling of incoming grant applications;
  • Following-up on the finance aspect of approved applications in accordance with procedures;
  • Monitoring and updating of the project database;
  • Contributing to the development of assigned initiatives through researching on relevant information and assisting in the structuring of grants and proposals;
  • Supporting the Grant Manager in monitoring grant making and reviewing grantee deliverables, time-frames, budgets and reports with the aim of building alignment and effective collaboration between grantees; and
  • Providing general and administrative support to the Grant Manager.
Key qualifications, knowledge and experience required:
  • A Bachelors degree in a relevant field. A Masters will be an added advantage;
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in a similar role, two years of which should be with an international organization or NGO;
  • Proficiency in IT, database administration and office administration procedures;
  • Fluent in written and oral English and Kiswahili; and
  • Fluency in French and English will be a requisite for the Program Assistant, Francophone.
