Credit Officers - Micro Credit and SME

Salary: KShs 20,000 - 25,000

The Credit Officer through teamwork will effectively handle credit function operations in order to ensure a profitable line of business and a quality loan book, while reporting to the Branch Manager.
 

Key Duties
  • Grow and maintain a quality loan portfolio
  • Recruitment of new clients
  • Risk Management: Credit risk analysis and evaluation
  • Undertake credit appraisal to vet all credit proposals
  • Sound understanding of lending in micro-finance industry.
  • Ensure all amounts disbursed are collected by the due date.
  • Monitoring and administration of credit performance through reports
  • Ensure Compliance with Credit policies and procedures
  • Work hand in hand with SCL team to source for new business
  • Relationship Management
  • Branch support and Carry out inspection on credit/lending issues
Minimum qualification and experience required:
  • Diploma/degree in business / Finance / Social Science related field
  • Lending and relationship management experience to create a balance between credit risk and customer service
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in a credit function of a financial institution handling Micro and SME clients.
  • Have an excellent interpersonal, organizing and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with outstanding reporting skills.

Branch Manager - Micro Credit and SME
 
Reporting to the Head of Credit Operations, The Branch Manager through teamwork will be responsible for business growth, service delivery, compliance and ensuring efficient day to day operations of the branch. 

Key Duties
  • Growing and managing a quality loan portfolio.
  • Preparation and implementation of annual branch budgets and business development plans.
  • Achievement of branch profitability and cost control objectives
  • Promotion & marketing of the Institution’s products and services
  • Enforce implementation of laid down policies and procedures for Credit operations and staff discipline.
  • Monitor loan assessment, appraisal and approvals at the branch
  • Ensure loan repayments and recoveries are within stipulated timelines and as per policy guidelines.
  • Ensure supervision, appraisal, coaching, motivation and development of all branch staff and recommending appropriate training needs.
  • Working with third party service providers to deliver superior service to all customers.
  • Marketing intelligence and reporting to understand competitor activity in the assigned area.
  • Ensure provision of high quality services to all customers in a timely manner.
  • Manage relationship with all stakeholders to ensure positive image of the institution is maintained.
Minimum qualification and experience required:
  • Diploma / Degree in business / Finance / Social Science related field. An MBA is an added advantage.
  • Lending and relationship management experience to create a balance between credit risk and customer service.
  • At least three (3) years’ experience as a branch/unit manager in credit function of a financial institution handling Micro and SME clients.
  • Have an excellent interpersonal, organizing and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with outstanding reporting skills.
  • High integrity and professionalism.

Branch Operations Officer - Micro Credit and SME

Salary KSh 40,000 - 50,000

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Branch Operations Officer will be responsible for efficient and consistent customer service delivery and managing day to day operations of the branch to ensure quality loan portfolio and customer delight. 
 

Key Duties
  • Managing the branch loan portfolio in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the branch consistently delivers high quality service to all customers.
  • Ensure compliance, minimize exposure to and the impact of operational risks.
  • Ensure proper loan assessment, appraisal, documentation and approval.
  • Coordinate with third party service providers (Legal, valuers, tracking companies, CRB, debt collectors, auctioneers etc) to achieve stipulated TAT.
  • Relationship management
  • Implementation of established policies, procedures and systems in achieving compliance requirements, efficiency, resource utilization and cost control.
  • Control the utilization, proper maintenance and custody of all assets at the branch.
  • Ensure superior and consistent service delivery. 
  • Promoting sales & service culture through coaching, guidance and staff motivation.
  • Analyse portfolio performance on daily basis and coordinate collection/recovery activities.
  • Proposing the development of new services/products or the improvement in the existing ones in relation with market and results analysis.
  • Ensure all reporting tools are available at branch level to correctly monitor all branch activities.
  • Ensure implementation of the branch marketing plan.
  • Ensuring appropriate and efficient support from Back Office team at Head Office to the branch.
Minimum qualification and experience required:

  • At least three (3) years’ experience in a credit function of a financial institution handling Micro and SME clients.

  • Competent in effectivley appying relevant lending policies, processess and procedures to consistently achieve compliance goals.
  • Customer focus to effectively investigate customer complaints and respond appropriately.
