Accountant Job in Kenya – Payroll

Career Opportunity: Payroll Accountant
 
Sameer Africa Limited, a leading manufacturer and provider of tyres and tyre solutions with offices across Kenya and the COMESA region, has exciting opportunities for highly skilled and resourceful candidates to fill the above position.
 
Main Purpose of the Role: Ensuring efficient administration of payroll in line with company policies and procedures and statutory requirements

Among others, key accountabilities will include:-
  • Ensuring timely and accurate processing and payment of salaries and wages
  • Prepare and submitting timely statutory deductions and preparing payroll reports
  • Maintaining and updating payroll data
  • Reviewing all monthly variables payroll inputs including overtime schedules and time attendance systems
  • Implementing pension scheme instructions contributions & ensuring appropriate remittance
  • Preparing and maintaining payroll journal entries and liaise with finance for reconciliation on the same during posting
  • Preparing direct payroll costs for budgetary purposes
  • Preparation and disbursement of accurate pay slips
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance or a related business field
  • A Certified Public Accountant (CPA(K), / ACCA or equivalent) and be a member of ICPAK
  • At least 4 years relevant working experience in a manufacturing environment preferably a comparable role
  • Knowledge of IFRS / IAS and Taxation rules and laws
  • Exposure and excellent knowledge in wages act
  • Good working knowledge of ERP systems – working knowledge of SAP Version 6.0 will be an added advantage
  • A team player with excellent communication skills, Attention to detail, problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • High standards of ethics and values
