Job Title: IT Assistant

Responsibilities
  • Providing routine IT Support to users in field locations.
  • Primary responsibility for the installation and maintenance of all IT systems
  • Supporting users with key applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Support users with the installation and configuration of printers, digital cameras and other hardware.
  • Support in sorting email problems.
  • Responsible for the backup of system files, user files and emails and assisting users with these backup processes and recovery of backed up data in case of data loss.
  • To assist with specific tasks include the maintenance of shared resources sand shared folders.
  • Responsible for maintaining an up-to-date centralized register for IT/ Communication hardware and software and information management
  • Installation of relevant Operating Systems and Application in user computers and the primary maintenance of these software systems including upgrades.
  • Ensuring that all the computers in the based are kept up to date with anti-virus and all relevant patches.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Diploma in Information Technology, Computer science, Information Systems or any other related field.
  • 2 + years’ experience in a busy computer network department.
  • Skills in computer desktop applications including Word processing, Spreadsheet, Presentation, Illustrator, Social Media and Database application software.
  • Hands-on experience in networking and cabling, network administration including working with wireless networks. Knowledge of the TCP/IP networking protocol is desirable. Work with network printers is also critical.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in user support in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office platforms include
  • support of Exchange Server mail system and Microsoft Outlook clients.
  • Self-started and ability to work without supervision.
  • Service oriented personality.
