Vacancy: Claims Administrator

A leading Kenyan insurance company known for its innovative and  affordable services is looking for an experienced vehicle claims administrator.  

Ideal candidates would have a solid base of experience in all aspects of the vehicle claims process, for instance, claims review, reserving, appointing assessors and investigators and providing an informed factual opinion on the best course of action.   

Claims administrator has overall responsibility for documentation and processing of all vehicle claims payable.  
Responsibilities
  • Be able to conduct claim reviews and ensure that the data in the system is always accurate
  • Oversee the detection  and investigation of  fraudulent claims
  • Pursue recovery from third parties and/or third party insurers and also pursue recovery of policy excess and ensure all claim documentation  is correct
  • Create and maintain proper claim reserves
  • Appoint assessors and investigators
  • Compare assessment reports and give an informed opinion
  • Be able to prepare monthly claims reports for internal and external use.
Qualifications and experience
  • Ideally, bachelors degree in a business related field or automotive -- mechanical engineering
  • Diploma -- certificate in automotive engineering would be an added advantage
  • Diploma in Insurance (mandatory for non-insurance degree holders)
  • Must have worked for at least 2 years in a busy motor insurance environment
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills combined with high integrity and a can-do attitude.
  • Attention to detail and conversant with the names of motor vehicle body parts and the rates for parts and labor
  • Fully computer literate.
