Lake Victoria North Water Services
Board was established under the Water Act 2002, and is responsible for the
efficient and economical provision of water and sewerage within its area of
jurisdiction.
The Board seeks to strengthen the management of one of its Water Service
Provider covering Kakamega, Khayega, Mumias, Butere, Nambale, Busia and Matayos
Water Supplies by recruiting self driven and result oriented candidates to fill
the following senior position. The position will be stationed in Kakamega.
Executive Secretary
Ref: LVNWSB/KBWS/WSP 5/14
Reporting to the Managing Director,
the key result area of the position is to provide administrative and
secretarial support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and secretarial
services in the MDs office.
- Attend to inquiries in the MDs office
appropriately including consulting with relevant authorities.
- Make appropriate decisions in daily office
matters, handling urgent matters effectively and efficiently.
- Maintain sensitive and confidential materials
and retrieving them when required.
- Receive and attend to official guests.
Minimum Qualifications
- Higher Diploma in Secretarial Management
(KNEC)
- Computer proficiency in MS office applications
with minimum typing speed of 50 Words per minute
- A minimum of 3 years secretarial experience in
a busy organization
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive
information in a professional manner
- Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills
- Cheerful personality with excellent
organizational skills
- Creative and innovative team player
- Ability to work under pressure, work long
hours and under strict deadlines
Internal Audit Manager
Ref LVNWSB/KBWS/WSP 3/14
Reporting to the Audit Committee of
the Board functionally and to the MD administratively.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate the company’s risk profile and advice
the company on the appropriate action.
- Develop audit policies and procedures manual.
- Executing internal audits in compliance with
international standards
- Develop audit programs for audit of all areas
of company’s operations and preparing audit reports
- Appraising adequacy and effectiveness of
internal controls
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Commerce/Finance,
Accounting or its equivalent from a recognized university
- Member of relevant professional body
(ICPAK,CIA or institute of internal auditors of Kenya)
- 5 years experience in auditing department in
either a public or private firm
- Excellent interpersonal, management,
communication and report writing skills.
- Analytical and decision making skills
- Team player
- Computer literacy and familiarity with
standard office computer applications; and ability to work under pressure
and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of various accounting software
Manager, Internal Audit and Risk
Management

Reports to: CEO and Audit and Risk Management Committee of the
Board
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement audit plans and programs
- Carry out independent assessment of the
application and compliance with the established corporation policies,
procedures and regulations
- Effectively checking control systems and
procedures
- Safeguarding the Board against risk of loss
- Prepare audit reports for the CEO and Audit
Committee of the Board.
- Provide leadership to audit team
Minimum Qualifications
- A degree from a recognized university in a
business related field
- Registered member of the Institute of
Certified Public Accountants of Kenya and Institute of Internal
Auditors
- Experience and familiarity with computer based
accounting and use of computer aided auditing techniques (CAATs)
- Good leadership and analytical skills
- Good team player
- Masters qualification is an added advantage
- Have at least 7 years experience in reputable
organisation, 5 of which must have been in a senior management position
with audit working experience.
Key Skills and Competencies

standard office computer applications

skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet
