Communication Secretary
The Profile: ICRC is looking for young and energetic
individuals who have good organisational, interpersonal and communication
skills.

Responsibilities:
- Assists the Coordinator in running the office;
- Performs general secretarial duties
independently;
- Provides services to staff and departments
independently;
- Files and archives, drafts and types routine
correspondence;
- Ensures efficient information flow within the
department;
- Applies and follows standard administrative
procedures independently;
- Contributes to the reports and analyses on the
services;
- Has contact with various interlocutors;
- Prepares accounting and logistical documents
independently.
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma in office management;
- Good command of Somali and English, written
and spoken;
- Basic computer skills and good knowledge of
Word and Excel;
- 2-4 years professional experience in same or
similar field of activity;
- Basic leadership and management skills;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Flexible, motivated self-starter personality,
sense of responsibility and organization, ability to travel in all parts
of the country.
Other Requirements:
- Experience in humanitarian work;
- Knowledge about management of a Library.
Communication Online Editor / Production
Officer
The Profile: ICRC is looking for young and energetic individuals who have good organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities:
The Online Editor works under the
supervision of the Communication Coordinator (based in Nairobi).
He/She is in charge of posting on the
blog, Somalia Face Book page or/and ICRC country web page of the stories, video,
audio and pictures identified by the delegation, communication team and
communication coordinator and in coordinating the timely submission of content
from either internal or external contributors.
The Online Editor is responsible to
ensure that content uploaded is correctly edited.
He/She has the expertise to work with
“WordPress” as the content management system (CMS) for the ICRC Somali blog or
other online pages.
In addition the person will conduct quality follow-up of all print items for the Somalia delegation by the ICRC Nairobi Production Unit.
He/She executes administrative and
office work related to the project
Minimum Requirements:
- University degree (communication, arts,
journalism, Marketing);
- 2 years’ work experience in a similar field of
activity;
- Knowledge in CMS and skills in using
“WordPress” and Drupal is an asset;
- Basic knowledge in print production;
- Excellent knowledge of Website platform
management and online communication;
- Knowledge of basic design/layout principles,
including branding;
- Excellent knowledge pre-press production
workflow and technology;
- Fluent in written and spoken English and
Somali;
- Excellent communication and presentation
skills;
- Excellent analytical and writing skills;
- Good knowledge of the political, social and
cultural assigned environment;
- Ability to travel and work in Somalia;
- Very good computer literacy;

Communication Assistant
The Profile: ICRC is looking for young and energetic

Responsibilities:
- As a core member of the Communication
Department, the primary role of this post is to ensure the production of
high-volume, high-quality communication products for the Delegation;
- Contributes proactively to the definition of
the ICRC’s communication strategy and tools;
- Consolidates a network of contacts with media
representatives;
- Monitors relevant media outlets and
participates in the analysis of the overall humanitarian situation in
Somalia;
- Accordingly, contributes to the elaboration
and implementation of communication strategies and plans of action;
- Contributes to the Planning for Results (PfR)
yearly exercise;
- Contributes to the implementation of
operational communication in Somalia;
- Works closely with the Communication
online/print editor;
- Prepares written reporting on the activities
independently, elaborates the weekly operational report (WOR) and various
ICRC reports;
- Contributes to the development and production
of dissemination tools;
- Executes administrative and office work
related to the project.
