Position Title: Security Officer - Dadaab
Contract term: Full-time, 1 year contract with possibility for extension
Key Areas of Responsibility: The Security Officer will support successful implementation of WTK projects in Dadaab.

Specific
responsibilities include:
- Ensure
all security and safety of WTK personnel and resources in Dadaab
- Work
closely with other agencies in Dadaab on security matters
- Organize
regular security training for staff
- Provide
security updates to senior management and staff
- Ensure
good coordination with all different departments in terms of security and
movement arrangements
Qualifications:
- University
degree or Diploma in relevant discipline, particularly security management
studies or public administration with either military or police training
- Security
management experience with a proven ability to develop and implement
effective and contextualized protocols and systems
- At
least 2 years’ experience working with NGOs and/or other humanitarian
organizations
- Past or
present experience in working with any of the Kenyan disciplined forces
will be an added advantage
- Demonstrated
experience working in uncertain, insecure and unstable locations
- Experience
with training & facilitation in security training for staff
- Knowledge
of international development, and refugee issues
- Experience
working with ethnically diverse communities
- Demonstrated
high level written and verbal communication skills in English and
Kiswahili. Knowledge of local dialect is an added advantage
- High
level computer skills
Position Title: Education Counsellor -
Kakuma
Contract term: Full-time, 1 year contract with possibility for
extension
Key Areas of Responsibility:
The Education Counsellor will provide
overall support to the teaching staff, PTA members and students by transferring
counselling skills to them.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Train teachers, parents and staff to enhance
their effectiveness in providing psychosocial support to girls in their
schools.
- Facilitate establishment of school counselling
programme and resources to help girls develop skills in the areas of
personal/social growth, educational planning, and career development
- Provide a comprehensive individual and group
counselling services to meet the developmental, preventive, and remedial
needs of girls in target primary and secondary schools.
Qualifications:
- A psychology/ Guidance and Counselling or
social science degree from a recognized University
- Maturity of attitude, relevant experience and
personality
- Membership to a Professional counselling body
- At least 2 years’ experience in the field of
counselling, training, group facilitation, supervision and/or community
based psychosocial programming
- Demonstrated passion and a commitment to
changing lives of others especially the girls for the better and inspires
others in that passion and commitment.
- Special interest, understanding, sensitivity
and proven skills of working with girls and communities in Arid and
Semi-Arid regions
- Demonstrated ability to travel to and work in
remote areas with rural populations.
- High level computer skills required
- Demonstrated effectiveness in developing and
coaching staff and community members
