Vacancy: Finance Manager
 
Our company is a national distributor of high quality energy-efficient and affordable household products to the Bottom of the Pyramid - BOP in Kenya. 

Overall Job Purpose: Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing the financial business strategy and activities. 

The job holder will provide leadership and expertise in financial planning and analysis, clear budgetary planning, formulating strategy and long- term business plans in order to achieve the Company’s strategy, growth and profit objectives.

Key Result Areas
  • Setting up of systems and structure in the finance department
  • Preparation of clear and concise management accounts and financial reports
  • Management of the company tax matters
  • Preparation of Financial models for proposed projects
  • Setup and run a financial structure processes of r ensuring timely access to appropriate and up to date financial information and best practice by all managers
  • Preparation of statutory accounts and liason with statutory auditors developing and leading a strong team of professional staff in the financial department
  • Ensure adherence to general acceptable accounting standards and principles and IFRS
  • Maintain proper financial records and ensure that there are clear audits trails
  • Preparation of Budgets and forecast and report in a clear and timely manner on the attainment of these forecast and budgets
  • Plan, manage and coordinate end of the month and end of the year closing process and procedures
  • Formulate internal controls, put them before the board of directors for approval and ensure that these controls are implemented fully
  • Document and audit company assets as required
  • Monitor the company’s cash flows and provide regular cash flow position reports as required as well as general treasury management
  • Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation
  • Other responsibilities assigned to the Employees from time to time
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
  • B Com Finance Option with post graduate qualification is an added advantage.
  • Over 6 years’ experience is sales with 2 years of experience in the top management.
  • Thorough business execution and Operational excellence
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
