Purpose: The
Women for Women International (WfWI) Africa Regional Office located in Nairobi,
Kenya, oversees the Africa Country Office operations in the Democratic Republic
of the Congo, Nigeria, Rwanda and South Sudan.
Women
for Women International has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Finance
and Administration Officer.
This
position will be based out of the Africa Regional Office located in Nairobi,
Kenya.
The Finance and Administration Officer is responsible for supporting the day-to-day finance and administrative activities that includes payroll management, asset maintenance, timely payment of service providers and book keeping.

S/he
will ensure that all financial activities are carried out in line with Women
for Women International financial policy and procedures and will work under the
supervision of the Associate Director, Africa Regional Finance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure
timely processing of Regional Office financial transactions and uploading
to QuickBooks, and timely preparation of financial statements;
- Process
all approved payments which include rent, internet and other service
providers;
- Assist
with global compliance testing;
- Maintain
up to date financial records in respect to all Regional Office financial
transactions
- Verify
all payments for accuracy and budget provisions before approval by
authorized staff in the Regional Office;
- Ensure
sufficient cash in the office and the bank;
- Arrange
the transfer of funds from foreign currency account to KSH account, with
approval from the Associate Director, Africa Finance;
- Responsible
for daily office expenditures and management of petty cash;
- Strictly
follow the financial diary to complete the monthly accounts and have them
submitted to HQ by the due dates;
- Maintain
up to date regional office vendor database and agreements;
- Coordinate
and execute procurement needs for the Regional Office and support Country
Offices that may require to procure from Kenya;
- Maintain
regional office travel schedule and arrange visas and travel bookings;
- Assist
in booking conference facilities and travel arrangements for visiting
staff from country offices and HQ as needed;
- Responsible
for general office cleaning and purchase of utilities;
- Maintain
up to date fixed asset schedule for Africa Regional Office and review of
Country Offices register;
- Process
in a timely manner the Regional Office monthly payroll;
- Ensures
that all relevant statutory deductions are effected and forwarded to
relevant authorities by the due dates (e.g. P.A.Y.E., NHIF, NSSF);
- Compile
annual returns and forward the same to the relevant authorities;
- Assist
in Country office monthly financial review;
- Perform
other duties as required by supervisor.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum
Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business Administration (accounting
option preferred) or related field;
- CPA
2 equivalent;
- At
least five (5) years relevant experience in non-governmental organization
in an accounting and administration role;
- Fluency
in English and Kiswahili. French language skills is an added advantage;
- Able
to work with minimal supervision;
- Good
interpersonal skills;
- High
level of integrity and attention to detail;
- Knowledge
of Computer accounting packages with particulars emphasis on Excel, Word
and Quickbooks System;
- Teamwork
and demonstrates initiative and problem solving skills;
- Commitment
to Women for Women International’s mission and values;
- Must
be a citizen of Kenya.
