/ Inventory Officer
About our organization: The World Agroforestry Centre (also
known as the International Centre for Research in Agroforestry or ICRAF) is an
independent research institution which generates science-based knowledge about
the complex role trees play in agricultural landscapes and rural livelihoods.
The
Centre’s headquarters are located in Nairobi, Kenya, and research is conducted
in more than 30 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
We are
supported by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research
(CGIAR) and receive funding from over 50 different donors.
About the
position: To provide professional inventory and stock management services to
ICRAF and its user departments including coordinating receipt, stocking and
issuance of stores and maintaining adequate records.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
To maintain
inventory and stock in compliance with ICRAF procedures and end user
requirements through:
- Goods Receipt - Receiving and inspecting all incoming goods/materials and reconciling with purchase orders.
- Maintenance – Maintain the stores in a neat and orderly manner.
- Record Keeping – Document and maintain adequate records of all stores, including issuance and tracking their movements.
- Verification - Assist in the annual stock verification exercise and identifying discrepancies on orders.
- Obtain Approvals - Prepare documentation for necessary approval as per the procurement guidelines.
- Stock levels - Optimising stock levels to ensure replenishments are adequately planned for and avoid excessive holding of stocks.
- Quality - Ensuring that all stocks comply with the quality standards of the organization.
- Reports - Compiling inventory reports for review and analysis.
- User/Client Liaison – Establish and maintain good working relationships with user departments by regular contact to provide information and solve problems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics or any related discipline
- Or Diploma with 5 years’ relevant experience
- Professional qualification of MCIPS (preferable)
- Minimum of 2 years inventory management procurement experience
