Finance and Administration Officer Job in Kenya (Intern)

Kenya NGO Alliance Against Malaria (KeNAAM) is a Network of Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Faith Based Organizations (FBO), Community Based Organization working on advocacy, community social mobilization for scaling up of malaria interventions in Kenya.

KeNAAM endeavors to pool resources together through its elaborate networks towards preventing, controlling and reducing socio-economic burden due to malaria. KeNAAM’s vision is “a malaria free Kenya”

KeNAAM would like to invite applications for Finance and Administration Officer.

Internship Title: Finance and Administration Officer

Duration: 6 months contract commencing on July 2014

Department: Finance & Administration

Reports to: Head of Finance & Administration

Purpose

Provide Financial & Administration support to effectively and efficiently carry out key functions of the Organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining internal financial/administration controls.
  • Post entries in the accounting system and underlying ledgers in a timely manner.
  • Assist in cash management and bank reconciliation.
  • Be involved in budget forecasting, preparation, while ensuring compliance.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial accounts and the supporting schedules.
  • Assist in cashbook maintenance, general ledger and prepare management reports.
  • Assist in supporting the Administration functions.
  • Verify all supporting documentations before presenting for authorization.
  • Assist in documentation and filing of finance documents.
  • Undertake any other finance duties as shall be assigned by the supervisor.

Internship Specifications

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent.

Specialized Training/ Professional Qualifications: CPA II

Relevant Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years experience in a busy accounts office in an NGO setting. Hands on experience in the use of accounting packages especially QuickBooks.
