Assistant ICT Officer Job Vacancy

The Kenya Nuclear Electricity Board is a State Corporation in the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, established under the State Corporations’ Act Chapter 446 of the Laws of Kenya through Legal Notice No. 131 of 16th November 2012. 

KNEB is the government agency mandated to expedite the development of nuclear power generation, in order to enhance the production of affordable and reliable electricity in Kenya for the achievement of Vision 2030.

We are seeking for a young, dynamic and enthusiastic individual to fill the following vacant position:
 
Assistant ICT Officer
1 Post

Reporting to the Assistant Director ICT, the Assistant Officer ICT will be in charge of system maintenance, Network system, Equipment maintenance and offering ICT support system to the Board.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in implementation and monitoring of ICT policies and procedures ensuring compliance with set standards.
  • Installing, upgrading and configuration of applications and data base servers.
  • Managing backup systems and ensuring data recovery mechanism is in place.
  • Coding business applications.
  • Providing user support and training.
  • Ensuring computers and other hardware are maintained.
  • Installation, management and maintenance of voice communications equipment.
  • Maintaining infrastructure documentation and inventory.
  • Installation of local area networks as well as other networks required.
  • Researching on available technologies.
  • Managing and administering database and application servers.
  • Establishing and maintaining an E-library for the Board.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in computer science
  • Certificate in Computer Programming
  • Experience in window server 2008
  • Web Programming (HTML, CGS, PHP, Java script)
  • Knowledge of photo / video editing software, computer Aided Diagram Software
Skills and Competencies
  • Good communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with staff at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Self-motivated, discipline and able to work independently.
Work Experience: Minimum two (2) years working experience in a reputable firm
