System Administrator
(Networks)

Job Profile
- Undertake network administration (including backup, security management, user account management, e-mail systems including e-mail web server, internet access, office systems and applications support).
- Support server, network and desktop hardware, software and applications.
- Perform technology needs analysis.
- Roll out hardware and software to ensure optimal deployment of resources.
- Plan, implement, and support the network and computing infrastructure plan.
- Manage small to medium sized projects according to agreed upon budgets and schedules.
- Assist with technology planning through ongoing research.
- Support development of technical standards and application use.
- Resolve network problems and offers technical assistance to users.
- Train end users with simple network troubleshooting techniques.
- Review the development and implementation of organization-wide network security systems – firewalls, intrusion detection, VPN, access controls.
- Assess and recommend appropriate security tools and products.
- Assess and advise on appropriate countermeasures to minimize the security risk posed by outsourced providers.
- Perform tracking and reporting of information systems audit issues.
- Test and sign off security technologies in new, upgraded and existing systems.
- Schedule and conducts regular security reviews of the Company’s compliance against established policies and standards.
- Monitor and assess network security issues.
- Manage authentication and access methods requirements.
Key Competencies
- Good knowledge of: structured cabling systems and supporting international standards.
- Experience: supporting one or more network operating systems; installing, administering, and configuring two or more multi-protocol routers in multiple locations; troubleshooting, isolating, and interpreting performance problems in a multiple environment.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to lead both technical and business level communications.
- Practical experience in security standards, tools and methodologies.
- Experience in deploying firewalls.
- Practical experience with network monitoring and management tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.
- Team leadership and project management experience.
- Ability to deliver KPC’s articulated vision for change, create a sense of urgency around change and motivates staff to join change efforts.
- Ability to maintain professional status and keep abreast of evolving trends through continuing professional education, especially in the area of petroleum products.
- Ability to empower staff through coaching and counseling by emphasizing accountability and results oriented management rather than direct supervision.
Person Profile
- Minimum three (3) years relevant experience.
- Bachelor degree in Computer science or related field.
- CCNP Certification.
