Applicants are invited for the following positions:-

Senior Secretary - Institute for Development Studies
Grade D
AD/6/170/14
1 Post
(CHSS)

Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE C or KCE Div. III or an equivalent qualification with a credit in English Language.

In addition they must have passed the following subjects offered by the Kenya National Examinations Council or equivalent examining body:-
  • Business English III
  • Commerce II
  • Secretarial Duties II
  • Office Management III
  • Shorthand III (minimum 120 wpm) or Audio-Typewriting III
  • Typewriting 50 wpm

They should have certificates in and be able to use Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Data Base Management packages and at least three (3) years’ experience as Assistant Senior Secretary Grade C or a comparable position of responsibility for this grade.

They should have knowledge of Anti-virus Tools.

Assistant Senior Secretary Grade C, in the following units:-

a) Institute for Development Studies - 1 Post - AD/6/171/14 - (CHSS)

b) Dean’s Office, Faculty of Agriculture - 1 Post - AD/6/172/14 - ( CAVS)

c) Department of Human Pathology - 1 Post - AD/6/173/14 - (CHS)

Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE C or KCE Div. III or an equivalent qualification with a credit in English Language.

In addition they must have passed the following subjects offered by the Kenya National Examinations Council or equivalent examining body:-
  • Business English III
  • Commerce II
  • Secretarial Duties II
  • Office Management III
  • Shorthand III (minimum 120 wpm) or Audio-Typewriting III
  • Typewriting 50 wpm

b) Administration Division - AD/6/175/14 - 1 Post - (R&T )

c) Procurement Division - AD/6/176/14 - 1 Post - (R&T )

Applicants should be holders of a KCSE Grade C or KCE Div. III or its equivalent qualification with a Credit in English language.

In addition they must have passed the following subjects offered by the Kenya National Examinations Council or equivalent examining body:-
  • Business English II
  • Commerce II
  • Secretarial Duties II
  • Office Management III
  • Shorthand 80 wpm or Audio Typing III
  • Typewriting 50 wpm

They must be computer literate.

Records Clerk - School of Nursing Sciences
Grade III

(CHS)

Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE D+ or equivalent with credits in English and Mathematics.

They should have at least three years relevant experience.

Sign Language Interpreter - Dean of Students’ Office
Grade III

(R&T)

Applicants should be holders of at least a Certificate in Sign Language interpreting from a recognized institution with at least one year’s working experience interpreting preferably in an education setting.

They must have proven track of adherence to Sign Language Interpreters Code of Conduct, have at least one letter of recommendation from organizations of persons who are deaf preferably form a registered national organization.

They must be computer literate and be members of a professional interpreter’s organization.

The successful candidate will provide Kenyan Sign language interpreting services during lectures, meetings, workshops and any other relevant area.

Please note that the appointment is on a six- month contract term renewable on mutual agreement.

1.
