The Bureau is seeking suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following position based in Nairobi:

Regional Sales Manager

He/she will report to the Sales and Marketing Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities
·                     Ensure that the Kenya Literature Bureau books are available where the consumer expects them to be at the right quantity and price.
·                     Ensure that the set sales targets are realized consistently in value and volume.
·                     Implement the agreed marketing promotional activities on time and as per the brief.
·                     Recruit and develop customers to grow market share. Control expenditures in line with the agreed budgets.
·                     Represent the interests of Kenya Literature Bureau in the region.
·                     Provide quality and timely feedback to the market development team.
·                     Co-ordinate the sales performance of various titles to ensure achievement of overall area target.
·                     Regularly analyze sales and take corrective action to achieve targets.
·                     Give sales forecast by customer as inputs into the supply chain planning.

Minimum Qualifications
·                     Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree with postgraduate qualification in Sales and Marketing (MSK, KIM).
·                     A Diploma in sales and marketing or its equivalent from a recognized institution
·                     Post-graduation teaching experience of a minimum of three (3) years.
·                     Basic understanding of the Kenyan school curriculum.
·                     Good communication skills.
·                     Good product knowledge - own and competitor products.
·                     Basic selling, ICT and report writing skills.
·                     A clean valid driving licence with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience.


Senior Communications Officer

He / she will report to the Public Relations Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities
·                     Coordinate the flow of information and communication as captured in relevant policies to enhance corporate image.
·                     Execute the KLB strategic communication plan to achieve corporate goals and objectives.
·                     Create and deliver corporate newsletter content among other publications to 1m prove employee relations.
·                     Initiate PR activities to promote KLB products and services
·                     Liaise with the media for enhanced publicity.
·                     Write speeches and prepare official briefs / documents/reports for presentation and decision making.

Minimum Qualifications
·                     Degree in social sciences plus a postgraduate diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, or Public Relations or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
·                     Must have at least three (3) years’ experience in the field of communication and public relations practice
·                     Possession of a master’s degree from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
·                     Should possess good oral and written communication skills and excellent public relations
·                     Must be computer literate.


Senior Legal Officer

He/she will report to the Legal Service Manager and will be responsible for all legal matters, and shall be the custodian of statutory documents.

Duties and Responsibilities
·                     Receive court documents in the absence of the Manager, Legal Services.
·                     Advise on relevant legislation including taxation and labour laws
·                     Liaise with public bodies on statutory and compliance matters
·                     Facilitate debt collection and liaison with debt collectors and auctioneers
·                     Liaise with insurance companies and brokers on risk assessments, claims and insurance litigation.
·                     Ensure Regulations that govern the operations of the Bureau are complied with at all times.
·                     Assist in preparation and circulation of Agenda and facilitate smooth running of Board meetings and preparation of minutes in a timely manner.
·                     Participate in the preparation, drafting and the negotiation of contracts, formal agreements and other legal instruments between the Bureau and other parties and ensure that they are done in the Bureau’s interest.
·                     Draft legal documents, interpret court/arbitral rulings, and monitor implementation of laws, including government policies and regulation.

Minimum Qualifications
·                     Must be in possession of a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized institution and a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
·                     Must have been admitted as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and the holder of a current practising certificate.
·                     Must have three (3) years relevant experience
·                     Possession of a Certified Public Secretary (CPS) (K) qualification or a master’s degree will be an added advantage.
·                     Must be computer literate.
·                     Serving officers must have served in the position of Legal Officer for a period of at least three (3) years and be in possession of a valid practising certificate.
