Office Assistant / Driver Job in Kenya

The Office Assistant / Driver shall report to the Administration Officer.

Job Description

The general duties include:

  • Collecting the mail from post office on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays of each week, or as requested.
  • Taking mail to the post office as and when necessary.
  • Deliver all official mail and check payments.
  • Collect mail as directed from offices as directed.
  • Do official banking as required, cashing cheques and making payments at the bank.
  • Clerical duties such as photocopying, printing etc.
  • Shopping for consumables.
  • Drive office staff to destinations as required.
  • Ensure proper use of vehicles through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs and fuel consumption.
  • Ensure daily maintenance checks of the office vehicle such as checking oil and water levels, battery, brakes, tyres, among others, and perform engine trouble shooting when necessary.
  • Informing the Administration Officer when work needs to be carried out.
  • Be responsible to inform the Head of Administration of re-registrations and insurance procedures for the vehicle.
  • Other assignments as assigned by the Principal Architect.

Qualification of the candidate:
  • A Valid driving license. 
  • Minimum, a Form Four certificate.
  • Certificate of Good Conduct and good references.
  • One years’ work experience as a driver; safe driving records.
  •  Excellent knowledge of Kenyan roads and traffic rules is essential.
  • Knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repairs.
  • Intermediate English skills (speaking, reading and writing) a must.
