Organization Description: One Acre Fund is an agricultural non-profit operating in Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania that is innovating a new way of helping farm families grow their way out of poverty.  We provide farmers with a "market bundle" including education, finance, farm inputs, health products, and market access.

Our program has proven impact – every year, we weigh thousands of harvests and measure a more than 100% average gain in farm income per acre. 

We are growing quickly. In seven years, we have grown to serve 135,000 farm families with more than 1,000 full-time field staff.

Job Description

One Acre Fund is a rapidly growing organization; increasing the number of sub-locations, districts, and members we serve in each year. 

We are seeking for an office manager who will manage our district office in Nyanza.

One Acre Fund is looking for young hardworking and talented candidates who are committed to making a difference in farmers’ lives.

Primary Duties

HR:
  • Managing all staff HR files   
  • Providing  Field Director with up-to date HR documents and templates
  • Ensure that all staff are aware of current HR policies and that new policies are disseminated effectively
  • Oversee payroll submissions and staff loans
  • Overall responsibility for the logistics, scheduling and materials preparation for staff selection or onboarding
  • Tracking all leave and disciplinary actions taken by and against employees
  • Ensure any staff timesheets are correctly signed and processed each month

Finance:
  • Putting together district budgets and procurement requests
  • Ensuring prompt and accurate payment of casuals and all other district related payments
  • Collecting and filing receipts for all transactions
  • Manage the district emergency buffer and expense log

Logistics:
  • Receive inventory and materials at Monday Meetings, signing off on amounts and distributing to field staff as appropriate
  • Submitting documentation of receipt of goods back to the logistics team   

Field Office:
  • Coordinate preparation/ logistics for district meetings/trainings
  • Assisting FD in compiling KPIs and other district data entry tasks
  • General organization of the district/ hub office and maintaining supplies of stationary and equipment
  • Representing One Acre Fund as the front face of the Office
  • Maintain communication and relationships with district relevant vendors

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with at least one year of work experience and a passion for sustainable agricultural development in Kenya.

  • Knowledge of basic accounting, data and administrative management practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of clerical practices and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of human resources management practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of office software packages
  • Leadership experience in team management.
  • Willingness to work in Nyanza.
  • At least a Diploma in business, social science and IT and related courses from a recognized institution.
