Kasarani Sportsview Hotel wishes to recruit competent and qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions;


Deputy Housekeeper

The job holder will assist the Executive Housekeeper in ensuring that the guests have comfortable and clean rooms, highest standards of cleanliness are maintained in the whole hotel and that facilities and equipment are available to the guests at all times.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist in supervision of the housekeeping team, the guest rooms, public areas, offices and the laundry.
  • Assist in proper planning and budgeting of the housekeeping finances.
  • Assist in developing action plans and standard operation procedures in view of varying room occupancy levels.
  • To monitor and control all the cleaning materials, equipments and detergents, ensuring that the right proportions are being used.
  • To occasionally provide on the job training to staff on procedures and any other relevant areas requiring coaching.
  • To ensure that any reported guest complaint is handled efficiently.
  • To ensure that reported guest complaints are handled efficiently and any beyond your ability is reported to the Executive Housekeeper.

Required skills and qualifications:
  • Possess a Diploma in Housekeeping or equivalent from a recognized training institution.
  • At least 3 years supervisor/management experience in hotel/housekeeping preferred.
  • Should have operational knowledge of laundry machines and usage on different laundry washing detergents and chemicals.
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills and be a team player.
  • Have the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Have excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Have good customer care and public relations skills.

Senior Sous Chef

The job holder will to assist the Executive Chef in overall management and control of the Kitchen department.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • To ensure that the kitchen department’s revenue and profit targets are met.
  • Helping in organizing and conducting training for cooking methods and support the training of kitchen personnel and attached trainees.
  • Overseeing the storage and disposal of leftover food products and uncooked products.
  • Supervise all buffet and ala’ carte meals, and ensure they are within specific set standards (portions).
  • Promoting team work in all aspects of kitchen operations.
  • Assisting in menu planning.
  • Ensuring food standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques meet our Standard guidelines.
  • Ensuring the highest possible standard of hygiene is practiced and maintained by the entire kitchen personnel to meet Health & Safety regulations and food preparation guidelines.
  • Checking and confirming quality and quantity of goods received.

Required skills and qualifications:
  • Must possess a Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management.
  • Minimum working experience of 4-5 years.
  • Certification and knowledge in HACCP.
  • Demonstrated strong management, training, leadership skills and good judgment.
  • Ability to manage staff.
  • Must have working knowledge of health, safety and sanitation procedures.

Life Guard / Swimming Pool Attendant

The job holder will maintain the safety and cleanliness of the swimming pool so as to provide a safe and pleasant environment for customers at all times.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all equipment are functioning properly.
  • Check and maintain the Color, Chemistry, and Clarity of the pool water.
  • Complete the opening, mid-day, and closing duties checklist.
  • Enforce all swimming pool rules and regulations.
  • To safe guard the life of the swimmers as per the age and competency.
  • Develop and maintain a friendly relationship with the clients.
  • Remain alert and attentive while on the lifeguard stand.
  • Attending promptly to clients who need other Hotel services.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required skills and qualifications:
  • YMCA swimming life guard certificate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge in pool treatment.
  • Advanced first aid training and knowledge.
  • Minimum working experience of 2-3 years.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.

Chief Steward

The job holder will manage the cleanliness and maintenance off all F&B equipment as well as the kitchen and its surrounding.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for achieving financial goals, by minimizing costs without compromise in hygiene conditions.
  • Ensuring there is sufficient operating equipment and cleaning supplies for the operation.
  • To set standards for cleaning procedures in line with the company policies.
  • Maintaining of all F&B area free of pest at all time.
  • Keeping of F&B equipment inventory book up to date in collaboration with the Storekeeper.
  • To conduct regular Hygiene Audits and submit the report to the Executive Chef.
  • Ensure that all operational equipment is in good use and well maintained.
  • Need to be associated with a recycling programme in accordance with the protection of the environment.
  • Responsible for the administration and the disposal of the waste.

Required skills and qualifications:
  • Food and Beverage training course from a certified college.
  • Minimum working experience of 2-3 years.
  • Knowledge in HACCP.
  • Leadership and training skills.
  • Good knowledge of detergents and sanitation guidelines.

Plumber

The job holder will be responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and waste water disposal within the hotel.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Install, repair and maintain water piping systems and controls and underground storm sanitary.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures for leaks.
  • Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meets the requirements of the appropriate codes and the environmental protection requirements.
  • Perform daily walk through, record all meter readings and boiler temperature.
  • Record all maintenance request work performed in the log program and return request to proper location as directed.
  • Ensure that all breakdowns are promptly attended to in order to keep interruptions to a minimum.

Required skills and qualifications:
  • Possess a Diploma in Plumbing or a Grade 1 Certificate in plumbing from a recognized institution.
  • Hotel knowledge system or general engineer service.
  • Ability to interpret plumbing drawings and technical information.
  • Minimum working experience of 3-4 years.
