The Judges and Magistrate Vetting Board was established pursuant to section 23 of the sixth schedule to the Constitution and the vetting of Judges and Magistrates Act 2011.

The objective of the board is to vet the suitability of all the Judges and Magistrates who were in office on the effective date to continue to serve in accordance with the values and principles set out in Article 10 and 159 of the constitution.

It shall operate for another period of two (2) years up to and including 31st December 2015.

The Judges and Magistrates Vetting Board seeks to recruit an officer for one year six months non-renewable contract, to fill the following position and a competitive salary will be offered to the successful applicant:-

Job Description

An officer at this level will be responsible for coordinating the administrative functions of the Board.

Specific duties will entail: facilitating the target- setting and annual performance/appraisal evaluation; Coordinating Board’s work plans and ensuring the Board is in compliance with all Government regulations including legal and statutory requirements.

The officer will also be responsible for providing administrative support services such as official transport, facilitating security, cleaning, hospitality, and catering and office accommodation services.

Job Specification

For appointment to this position, a candidate must:
  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences from a recognized institution;
  • Have a Masters degree in human resource Management, Business Administration or its equivalent from a recognized institutions;
  • Have a post graduate Diploma in Business Administration, or Public Administration,
  • Have worked in HRM profession or Administration for a minimum period of five(5) years 3 of which must be in senior level of management, in public or private sector; and
  • Not have been serving as a judge or magistrate on the effective date.
