UNITD Fellowship Program
Program Accountant
(University of Nairobi HIV
Fellowship) – Training for HIV managers in Kenya
The
University of Nairobi (UoN) in collaboration with the University of Washington
(UW) aims to support the Kenyan National HIV response by strengthening the
national program capacity through a training fellowship program.
The UoN
through the Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (UNITID) has
established the University of Nairobi Fellowship Program funded by the U.S.
President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
University
of Nairobi Fellowship Program seeks to recruit a Program Accountant.
Reporting
to the Program Manager, the incumbent will be based in Nairobi and responsible
for supporting projects budget preparation, invoicing and accountant
reconciliation.
He/she will
support resources effectively, and ensure that projects are within budget.
The
Accountant will be charged with connecting project activities with project
financials, sending financial reports to Director and donor as well as ensuring
compliance with donor regulations.
Requirements
- CPA (K) and members of ICPAK
- Strong IT skills and experience working with accounting software
- At least 3 years experience working as an accountant.
- Experience in budgeting for donor funded programs and financial management knowledge in US government regulations for funded projects will be an added advantage.
- Prior training in Grants Management will be an added advantage.
A relevant
first degree will be an added advantage.

that the appointment is on a one year contract term renewable on mutual
agreement
