University, a premier public university located 25Km North-West of the city of
Kisumu on the Kisumu - Busia road, invites applications from suitably qualified
and experienced persons with excellent credentials to fill the following
positions:
1. Deputy Vice-Chancellor,
Academic and Students Affairs
Minimum Qualifications
- Be at least an Associate Professor with an earned PhD or equivalent from a recognized University.
- Have at least 10 years academic management experience in posts such as Deputy Principal of a Constituent College, Principal of a Campus, Dean/Director of a Faculty/School.
- Possess an outstanding and internationally recognized scholarship record evidenced by at least 10 refereed journal publications, University level books / book chapters in the last five years. One book chapter is equivalent to one refereed journal publication and one University level book is equivalent to two refereed journal publications.
- Demonstrate resource mobilization through project grants and awards with a minimum of 3 grants of Ksh 10 Million each in the last five years.
- Must have supervised Masters and Doctorate students (at least 3 Doctorates and 5 Masters).
- Have a good understanding of the University academic functions and the applicable instruments and organs of governance.
- Demonstrate awareness of prevailing and emerging factors shaping development of University education in Kenya.
- Have a proven record of success in expansion of academic programmes and facilities necessary for the strategic growth of University education.
- Have skills in the use of modern technology in academic programmes delivery.
- Be of high ethical standards, integrity and professionalism.
- Meet the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate admissions, registration, tuition and examinations of students.
- Coordinate undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
- Coordinate student attachment and linkage with industry.
- Ensure the welfare of students.
- Plan and mobilize teaching resources.
- Promote the use of modern technology in programme delivery.
- Coordinate the implementation of appropriate quality assurance mechanisms to ensure conformity of University
- programmes with national standards and legal requirements.
- Coordinate the preparation of courses, syllabus and regulations.
- Prepare and submit requisite and statutory reports on the Division.
- Preside over and uphold high performance standard in the Division.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor,
Partnerships, Research and Innovations
Minimum Qualifications

- Have a proven record of success in collaborations, partnerships, innovations or research beneficial to University education.
- Be of high ethical standards, integrity and professionalism.
- Meet the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate research, innovation, partnerships, linkages collaborations and outreach services.
- Oversee the development and implementation of policies in bullet one above.
- Coordinate publication of journals and books by faculty and students in refereed journals.
- Build relationships with industries through local, national and international research networks.
- Coordinate management of intellectual property.
- Oversee the development of technology and innovation.
- Coordinate conferences, seminars, and exchange programmes in promotion of research and innovation locally and internationally.
- Plan and mobilize resources for research, partnerships and innovations.
- Support community development services.
- Prepare and submit requisite and statutory reports on the Division.
- Preside over and uphold high performance standard in the Division.
Terms and Conditions
The
successful candidates shall receive remuneration package which includes basic
salary, house allowance and medical cover as per Maseno University Terms and
Condition of Service.
