AIC Kijabe Hospital a church based hospital is seeking for competent individuals to fill the below positions.

Job Title: Cashier

4 Positions

Purpose: To glorify God, by ensuring that the Hospital invoices and collects all its due revenue from its clients and healthcare partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • To ensure an efficient and Christ like work environment with other departments, staffs, patients and their relatives receives excellent services.
  • To interact with the patients and other departments in a courteous and helpful manner, to get clarification on the contents of the files, etc, in order to accurately calculate the bill and other Hospital charges.
  • To interpret the data on the patient file, etc, ensuring that all charges are complete and accurate.
  • To perform the final calculations on patient bills and other hospital charges. This includes inputting the bills/charges into the computer and generating a computerized receipt. The data is then used to complete the month’s computerized general ledger.
  • To collect the payments, keep an accurate balance of cash vs. receipts and timely hand over the same to the Head Cashier.
  • To collect all of the necessary insurance information from patients and/or relatives and follow up with the insurance claiming process as well as to properly document all the information.
  • To work with the Accounts Assistant to confirm that the Corporate Debtors’ advise notes are genuine and if the A/c in question is credit worth.
  • To assist patients, relatives, staff and the general public with any queries they may have regarding bills, charges, mode of payment, etc and act as a good public relations person for KH.
  • To set the objectives and standards of the duties analyzed in your job Description. This includes writing the procedures you go through in performing your duties well and ensure continuity.
  • Be responsible for the financial integrity of AIC Kijabe Hospital and inform the Finance Director and Accountant of all issues relevant to the financial operations of KH.
  • Keep the working area and files presentable and actively contribute to the quality improvement of the Business Office services.
  • To perform any other relevant duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Finance Director/Accountant as may be deemed necessary by mutual agreement.

Working Time: 45 hours per week according to the collective bargaining agreement.

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Minimum of C Plain in KCSE
  • Minimum of C Plain in Mathematics
  • KATC Final
  • C.P.A PART I
  • Computer literate
  • A Christian with good standing
  • Ability to speak English and Kiswahili fluently.
  • 3 Years’ experience in a similar position.
