Day Waterman College (DWC) is an impressive purpose-built co-educational school for students aged 1 1 — 1 6. DWC is in its fifth year and at full capacity will accommodate 700 students.

In September 201 4 there will be 500 students from Years 7-1 1 .

Students follow the English National Curriculum at KS3 and KS4. Post 1 6 provision is being planned.


The 35 hectares site is located in the peaceful area of Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, and less than one hour’s drive from Lagos.

Outstanding facilities and equipment are provided to support the learning environment.

Students partake in a breath of activities; sports, outdoor education, music and creative /cultural activities.

DWC is full boarding and all staff members are expected to contribute to the co-curricular life and duties in this very busy school.

Applications are requested from suitably qualified candidates for the following posts:

Principal

(4yearsfull-time renewable contract)
  • A first degree and a Qualified Teachers Status; a minimum of 5 years experience as a Headteacher or senior leader in a college preferably in the UK. 
  • National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) will be an added advantage.

Vice Principal, Academic

(2 years full-time renewable contract)
  • A first degree; a minimum of 5 years experience in teaching l/GCSE I A Level preferably in the UK.
  • In addition, the candidate should have some experience in whole school leadership and also in the mentoring of PGCE teachers.

Curriculum Leader for Creative and Performing Art

(2 years full-time renewable contract)
  • A first degree; a minimum of5 years experience in teaching I/GCSE /A Level preferably in the UK or in a recognised international school.
  • The candidate should have some experience in departmental leadership and also in the mentoring of teachers.

Curriculum Leader for Design Technology

(2 years full-time renewable contract)
  • A first degree; a minimum of 5 years experience in teaching I/GCSE /A Level preferably in the UK or in a recognised international school.
  • The candidate should hove some experience in departmental leadership and also in the mentoring of teachers.

Curriculum Leader for Humanities

(2 years full-time renewable contract)
  • A first degree; o minimum of 5 years experience in teaching I/GCSE /A Level History/RE
  • preferably in the UK or in a recognised international school.
  • The candidate should have some experience in departmental leadership and also in the mentoring of teachers.

Curriculum Leader for Modern Foreign Languages

(2 years full-time renewable contract)
  • A first degree; a minimum of 5 years experience in teaching I/GCSE /A Level Spanish/French or Spanish/Mandarin preferably in the UK or in a recognised international school.
  • The candidate should have some experience in departmental leadership and also in the mentoring of teachers.

Director of Sports

(2 years full-time renewable contract)
  • A first degree; a minimum of 5 years experience in teaching I/GCSE /A Level preferably in the UK or in a recognised international school. The candidate should have some experience in departmental leadership and also in the mentoring of teachers.
