Duties and Responsibilities

The school bursar will be responsible for
  • general supervision and administrator functions of the non-teaching and subordinate staff;
  • custody and maintenance of books of accounts and accountable documents;
  • writing financial estimates;
  • determination of aggregate expenditure;
  • safeguarding school assets;
  • constant check on possible fraud and errors;
  • preparation of periodical financial statements;
  • supervision of revenue collection process and banking;
  • processing of local purchase orders;
  • verification of payments and control of expenditure and
  • any other duty delegated to him/her by the school administration.

Requirements for Appointment
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education with at least grade ‘C’ aggregate or Division II with a minimum of C in English and Mathematics.
  • Certified Public Accountants Part III (CPA III) or in possession of any other recognized qualification adjusted to equivalent of part III CPA (Kenya)
  • Diploma in Business Administration or its equivalent from a recognised institution.
  • Good experience of the stated job and prove of the same will have an added advantage.

In addition, those with BCom (finance) option will have an added advantage.
