Senior Manager - Indirect Channel

We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the SME Department within the Enterprise Business Unit Division. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:

Reporting to the HOD SME, the position holder will drive achievement of billed revenue targets through execution of the go to market strategy via third party (Partner) channel; Allocate resources to ensure execution of partners and channels road map; Align the sales team on the go to market plan and channel development and management plans.; to manage, develop, motivate and coach the team to ensure high productivity.

The job holder’s key responsibilities will be to:
  • Formulate the go to market and acquisition plans through the dealers, partners & agencies ;
  • Execute the SME 3rd party Partner model ;
  • Manage the selection, growth, development, performance, motivation and recommend the reward of the team and support staff;
  • Manage the selection, growth, development, performance, motivation and recommend the reward of staff in the section ;
  • Review performance of the channels on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and ensure adherence to the use of agreed tools, processes and standards;
  • Manage alignment of all territory sales team to the partners and channels approved road map;
  • Manage execution of DOSA and ensure retention of high performing dealers and partners and termination of non-performers ;
  • Preparation of Dealer Management Sales budget;
  • Formulate and manage the implementation of effective plans for the section;
  • Effectively manage the dealer network;
  • Develop and implement an effective management system for a growing dealer network;
  • Conduct regular business reviews and progress evaluation with dealers;
  • Proactively attend to all channel/SME customers related issues, ensure consistent quality of service provided, and get an excellent customer rating;
  • Reports that facilitate accurate business decision making process and planning;

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills & competencies:
  • Bcom degree or equivalent from recognized university;
  • 5 years’ experience in sales management managing either indirect channels or a mix of direct and indirect, 3 of which must be in a management position with people management roles;
  • Experience in managing indirect channels in a telecoms environment is an added advantage;
  • Strong thinker with a strong business and commercial sense;
  • Team player with pleasant outgoing personality & resilience ;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills ;

Senior Manager – Direct Channels

 In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:

Reporting to the HOD, SME, the position holder will drive Revenue generation through direct recruitment and management of accounts in line with SME Strategy; Deliver on ARPA growth on existing SME accounts and ensure Safaricom business presence and rollout of SME products across the market, and through direct sales team.

The job holder’s key responsibilities will be to:
  • Ensure achievement of  set revenue targets i.e. Monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets;
  • Formulate and manage the implementation of marketing plans for SME/SoHO ;
  • Support the respective Regional & territory Managers to acquire customers;
  • Support the enterprise product development team in developing relevant solutions for the SME product to capture the market;
  • Grow ARPA on existing SMEs ;
  • Effectively manage the new/existing SME accounts through improved customer experience by managing end to end process and ensure compliance to service agreement requirements;

  • B.Com degree or equivalent Business degree;   
  • 5 years’ experience in sales management in a service industry of which 3 years should be in management position with people management role;
  • Problem solving/Designing solutions to sales related issues within the assigned Enterprise segment
  • Experience in appraising, evaluating performance and developing Corporate sector Managers, BSM, CAMs and CSMs;
  • Reviewing/Evaluating Sales initiatives/plans within the corporate sales to ensure efficiency & effectiveness;
  • Ability to Influencing/Advising customers on Safaricom products and services and policies;
  • Experience in planning Sales activities within the corporate sales channel;
  • Analyzing/Diagnosing issues arising within the channel & looking for best solutions
  • Ability Discipline and handle all disputes  involving staff managed
  • Ability to decide on all operational sales issues within the corporate sales while making recommendations to the HOD on critical issues:
  • Experience in assessing/evaluating sales & competitor activity within the channel.

Trade Marketing & Activation Manager

In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:

Reporting to the HOD, SME, and the position holder will support Direct & Indirect Sales Channels in trade marketing, promotions, brand management and consistent merchandising standards; develop, manage and implement sales projects that drive acquisitions of SME Customers, Branding & POS communication across all channels.

The job holder’s key responsibilities will be to:
  • Support achievement of set sales targets i.e. monthly, quarterly, annually  through development, effective participation and coordination of selling support strategy & activities within the SME market;
  • Develop, Supervise, coordinate and participate in sales and promotion programs aimed at market penetration and acquisition growth;
  • Managing the briefing process, day to day evaluation, co-ordination and control of support agencies in delivering campaigns;
  • Managing marketing support and sales promotional materials;
  • Communication and coordination of Sales Support activities with Region Manager/Territory Sales Manager & Indirect Sales Manager;
  • Effective monitor and control sales programs & projects assigned i.e. Zidisha Club & SME loyalty program etc. ;
  • Execute projects aimed at quality acquisition, growth and retention of SME Accounts;
  • Formulation of demand plan for sales marketing programs and projects. Development of branding communication specific for channels;
  • Effective monitoring and control the budget of approved departmental budget.

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills & competencies:
  • Degree in a Business related field;
  • Over 3 years hands on experience in a Sales Distribution/channel execution and administration;
  • Experience in sales promotions and activations is an added advantage;
  • Experience in Developing/Implementing/Coordinating Trade development activities;
  • Planning sales promotions/merchandising activities;
  • Ability to Cooperate/Liaise with dealers and both internal/external customers;
  • Ability to making strategic/tactical decisions on trade development activities in the field;
  • Informing customers on new products & services/Discussing with the customers on how best they can maximize sales;
  • Experience in Interviewing customers in the field to get feedback on the performance of our products & services/trade initiatives;
