International Medical Corps (IMC) - Somalia is a global, humanitarian, nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs.

Established in 1984 by volunteer doctors and nurses, International Medical Corps - Somalia is a private, voluntary, nonpolitical, nonsectarian organization. Its mission is to improve quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity in underserved communities worldwide.

By offering training and health care to local populations and medical and nutrition assistance to people at highest risk, and with the flexibility to respond rapidly to emergency situations, International Medical Corps – Somalia rehabilitates devastated health care systems and helps bring them back to self-reliance.

The candidates will be based in Nairobi with relocation to Mogadishu, will provide support to International Medical Corps’ programs in south-central Somalia and Somaliland.

Senior Finance Officer / Finance Manager (1) - Somalia

Summary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Preparation of budgets, budget notes and budget realignments in coordination with program staff
  • Reconciliation of bank and cash accounts
  • Review of expenses to be charged to correct budgets
  • Prepare key of allocation in line with current funding
  • Submission of reports to HQ and follow up for approvals
  • Manage external audits
  • Grant management
  • Follow up with HQ on approval of agreements, MOUs and agreement signing and donor payment
  • Prepare and review the financial reports
  • Assessment of potential sub grantees and training of sub awardees

Education& Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance
  • CPA (K) finalist
  • At least 5 years experience
  • Experience with accounting packages especially ACCPAC
  • Experience in NGO

Finance Officer (1) - Somalia

Summary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of donor reports
  • Prepare the documents for entry into ACCPAC
  • Remittance of statutory returns to respective bodies
  • Provide internal auditor with all requested documentation
  • Processing of field payments
  • Review procurement documentation
  • Average rate computation
  • Coding of expenses
  • Cash flow management
  • Preparation of staff payrolls

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • CPA II
  • Experience 3years with an INGO
  • Experience working with accounting package – ACCPAC

Finance Assistant / Cash Custodian (1) - Somalia

Summary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Scanning of all financial vouchers in the month and arranging them into the respective scanning folder
  • Working closely with Internal Auditors
  • Collection and retrieval of vouchers to accompany reports to donors
  • Prepare documentation for payment request
  • Petty Cash management.
  • Maintain proper filing system for all files in the department

Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance
  • CPA 1
  • Experience 2years
  • Experience with accounting packages a plus

Human Resource Manager (1) - Somalia

Duties and Responsibilities Summary
  • Manage and provide direction to staff recruitment and contracts
  • Provide strategic leadership and technical support in Human Resource Management and Administration
  • Assist to develop and streamline HR practices and policies that are aligned to the organization’s strategy
  • Review staff Job descriptions
  • Maintain and update Insurance Files
  • Build, strengthen and share lessons learned with regard to HR best practices
  • Facilitation of international staff movement – planning and purchasing of air tickets
  • Maintain expatriate legal status in Kenya – work permits, visas and passes
  • Ensuring compliance to regulations including personnel policies and records, Employee Laws and Issues
  • Conduct PSEA training for new hires and refresher for existing staff

Education & Experience
  • Relevant University Degree
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources
  • Experience 5 years in an INGO

Compliance Officer / HR Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities summary
  • Ensure mission is compliant with the Enhanced Due Diligence mission policy
  • Send the EDD material to HQ for review and upload
  • Maintain staff leaves records
  • Preparation of staff contracts
  • Compilation of personnel file documents – NSSF, NHIF, PIN number, Bio data etc.
  • Follow up with insurance companies on staff schemes; staff health, GPA etc

Education & Experience
  • Diploma in the relevant field
  • Experience atleast 2 years
  • Experience in an INGO
