Job Title: Strategy
and Risk Officer
Reporting
to the Strategy and Risk manager, the job holder will be expected to drive
change across the organization to foster a culture of processes, procedures,
technology and strategic product / service improvement and development.
Job Requirements
- Application of skill and expertise in cross functional business process redesign, continuous improvement, and process improvement and implementation while displaying project and program management leadership.
- Carrying out feasibility studies and research on strategic opportunities that drive the Corporation’s value proposition.
- Compile risk registers, identify key risk indicators for all risks within the business and to monitor and report on these key indicators
- Establish a healthy risk culture and ensure that the risk management approach and process is aligned with the business strategy and tactical interventions
- Establishing and maintaining appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of organizational performance.
- Monitoring, measuring and reporting on organizational development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales.
- Monitoring and reporting on markets and customers from a strategic standpoint and reporting on short, medium and long-term trends and directions.
Skills, knowledge and attributes
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics or related field. Postgraduate qualification in strategic management or performance management will be an added advantage.
- Relevant Microsoft packages and statistical software packages.
- Five (5) years’ experience in a strategic planning capacity, credit risk, operations risk or market risk management or related field.
- Knowledge and skills in the understanding, interpretation and practical implementation of risk and regulatory requirements.
- Results driver - takes the initiative to set and achieve challenging work goals, focuses one’s time and energy to maintain high work standards.
- Strong analytical skills
- Change agent – identify opportunities and initiate action.
- Continuous learner - uses work challenges as opportunities to try new learning and innovative solutions.
- Knowledge and application of Team mate enterprise risk and compliance software, corporate balance score card software will be an added advantage.
