Sales and Marketing Manager Job in Kenya

The Sales and Marketing Manager is a key member of the management team and will report to the MD.

He/she will be responsible for motivating the sales team and for facilitating resolution on escalated calls regarding Power Governors.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the sales & marketing manager will be responsible for marketing and selling the company‘s products within the designated region:

  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets as agreed with supervisor. Promote, seek and secure sales orders for company products by visiting current and potential customers. Make regular sales calls and follow ups to customers regarding their requirements
  • Participate in all sales and marketing events, such as shows, exhibitions and fairs within the designated territory.
  • Monitor sales of distributors, stockists and key accounts on a regular basis and report accordingly.
  • Prepare and maintain a record on sales activities and other related market activities including those on competition and advice management accordingly.
  • Train and supervise sales promoters carrying out special promotion events and ensure effective execution of their tasks.
  • Study market trends and carry out market intelligence to establish competition and presence of counterfeit or fake products.

The applicant must possess:
  • A Bachelor‘s degree in Sales & Marketing. A professional certification in a business related field will be an added advantage;
  • At least two years sales experience at operational level and one year experience at a supervisory level.
  • The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical, management and negotiation skills coupled with good communication, report writing, excellent interpersonal skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • In any small organization, the team members must be flexible and willing to undertake a wide range of activities in the course of daily business, including some which may not normally be part of the job description for an equivalent position elsewhere.


It is therefore a requirement that the individual filling this position has an aptitude to learn new skills, to think for him/herself, and be able to work in an environment where fixed routines may not be established.
