The
Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) is a State Authority created
under an Act of Parliament No. 35 of 2011 which provides for civilian oversight
of work of the police.

Reporting
to the Director, the jobholder will be responsible for assisting the Board
Chairperson to compile relevant information and analysis as required for
relevant units, regional overviews (e.g. Committee reports, donor reports,
Authority annual reports and updates) as well as follows preparation and
submission of reports to IPOA .
The jobholder will also be
responsible for:
- Assisting the Director, in his/her management and leadership functions, i.e. networking with Regional offices and programmes, the International Stakeholders, the press as well as other organisations;
- Coordinates and follows up Authority meetings team meetings and reports as necessary.
- Coordinates with staff of IPOA and communicates messages from the Board Chairman’s office.
- Organises agendas, meetings, and appointments for the Board and streamlines requests and workload; Organises travel/accommodation for the Board Members ;
- Handles mail for the Board Chairperson and edits enquiries and correspondence, reports and documents as required and Maintains filing, archiving systems and databases;
The
successful candidate will have a Degree in secretarial studies or business management
At least
Five (5) years of professional experience in an executive office.
Full
secretarial qualifications and computer literacy is a must.
Audit Assistant
Grade 7

Reporting
to Head of Risk and Internal Audit, the jobholder will be responsible for Audit
records and retrieval.
The
jobholder will also be responsible for:
- Keeping Audit records;
- Assisting photocopying and arranging audit documents for meetings;
- Dispatch of relevant audit reports to respective departments;
The
successful candidate will have CPA II, with 2 years relevant experience.
Computer

Driver
Grade 8

Reporting
to Administrations Officer, the jobholder will be responsible for driving
vehicles to fulfil IPOA’s transport needs.
The jobholder will also be
responsible for:
- Ensuring vehicles are mechanically sound and clean
- Ensuring safety of vehicles/equipment and its occupants
- Maintaining accurate and up to date vehicle/equipment records
- Reporting all accidents and incident cases promptly to the relevant IPOA offices
- The successful candidate will have Educational Qualifications:- KCSE mean grade D.
Professional Qualifications:-
- Valid Driving License,
- First AID Training,
- Defensive driving certification,
- Certificate of good conduct and
- 5 years relevant working experience .
Support Staff
Grade 9

cleanliness and office support of IPOA offices.
The jobholder will also be
responsible for:
- Ensuring of office letters and related correspondences
- Ensuring cleanliness of IPOA premises
- Assist in photocopying and documentation tasks
- Undertake day to day errands as required
- The successful candidate will have
Educational Qualifications:- KCSE mean grade D and 2
years relevant experience.
A valid
motorcycle riding licence will be an added advantage.
Certificate
of good conduct is a must.
