Coffee Development Fund (CoDF) is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, vested with the responsibility of providing sustainable, affordable credit to Coffee farmers and financial solutions to the Coffee sector.

Job Vacancies

The Fund invites applications from suitable candidates to fill the following vacant positions:

1) Information and Communication Technology Manager

Position Function

To spearhead technological developments in information technology, and leverage technology to the Fund’s needs and champion optimal Information Communication Technology systems and projects.

Key Responsibilities
·                     Development and management of the Fund’s Information Communication Technology strategy, to support the Fund’s strategic goals;
·                     Facilitate the installation and maintenance of information management systems that would enable the efficient gathering; storage. retrieving. usage and provision of timely and effective information:
·                     Customize CT systems into an interactive infrastructure which enables faster access to data and information and the sharing of ICT resources by users;
·                     Assure functionality of operating systems, network and applications software for effective communication and put in place measures which ensure security, privacy and integrity of data operations;
·                     Managing the implementation and operation of information security controls and relevant compliance system:
·                     Liaise with Human Resource and Administration officer to ensure that all employees of the Fund are continuously up-dated and trained in Information Communication Technology skills:
·                     Develop and maintain paperless office systems & efficient document archiving solutions in conjunction with the Finance & Administration manager;
·                     Advise the Fund on software’s, hardware’s and maintenance of Information Communication Technology equipment on regular basis;
·                     Coordinating and scheduling technical training for Information Communication Technology staff;
·                     Training of staff on application of CoDF information management system for compatibility in transacting business;
·                     Provide leadership in strategic planning, implementation and performance contracting process;
·                     Management of the Local Area Network, and Wide Area Network;
·                     Maximise staff performance through objective setting, appraisal review and feedback and;
·                     Perform any other duties assigned by the Managing Trustee.

Academic / Professional Qualifications & Work Experience
·                     A Bachelors degree in Information Management Systems or its equivalent from a recognised university.
·                     Masters in relevant field will be an added advantage
·                     IT professional certifications e.g. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Network Engineer (MCNE), or similar certification
·                     Membership to a relevant professional body.
·                     At least Six (6) years working experience with in depth exposure to computer hardware. software and network applications, three (3) years of which should be at a senior level.
·                     Experience in working with an Enterprise Resource Planning System.

Key Competencies
·                     Able to work independently and adhere to strict deadlines.
·                     Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential
·                     Satisfy chapter six of constitution on integrity
·                     Team Player.

2) Legal Officer

Position Function

Advise the Managing Trustee and the Board of Trustees on all legal matters relating to the Fund and provide legal opinions and background information necessary for policy planning and administration and a central means of disseminating legal information.

Key Responsibilities
·                     Prepare, vet and negotiate contracts, leases, formal agreements and other legal instruments to meet the laid down requirements for execution;
·                     Keeping safe custody of the Funds instruments and documents such as organization seal, charged documents and suit papers:
·                     Provide legal advice to the Fund on all legal matters related to its activities and mandate premised on a platform that is well researched, reasoned and timely;
·                     Co-ordinating the preparation of agendas for Board meetings. implementation of action points and taking minutes Board of Trustee meeting minutes:
·                     Authenticate documents issued to the Fund as collateral, securities or support documents for loans and undertake conveyance:
·                     Advising the Fund on all legal matters relating to employee relations and contract appointments for its entire staff;
·                     Ensure full compliance with Law, legislative issues, policies and procedures as stipulated by the statutes;
·                     Conduct legal research, investigation, preparation of witnesses for pre-trial and hearing, develop concept papers, prepare legal briefs and opinions as well as develop effective defence strategies. arguments and testimony in preparation for legal proceedings of cases in liaison with external lawyers;
·                     Ensure that the Fund’s credit administration, financial, human resources and administration and corporate communication procedures and rules developed are complaint with legal requirements;
·                     Represent the Fund in any litigation or legal suits filed by the Fund or against the Fund, handled court assignments involving civil and criminal matters:
·                     Maintain an up to date record of gazetted matters which relate to the Fund;
·                     Maximise staff performance through objective setting, appraisal review and feedback and;
·                     Carry out any other duties assigned by the Managing Trustee.

Academic / Professional Qualifications & Work Experience
·                     A Bachelor of Law Degree (LL.B) or the equivalent from a recognized university,
·                     A postgraduate diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
·                     An advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a current practicing certificate,
·                     Membership to a relevant professional body
·                     Experience in working with an Enterprise Resource Planning System.
·                     At least Five (5) years practical work experience in commercial law

Key Competencies
·                     Ability to research and assess legal issues
·                     Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
·                     High level of Integrity and honesty.
·                     Demonstrate ability to handle conveyance work,
·                     Satisfy chapter six of constitution on integrity
