Kenya Sugar Board whose mandate is to regulate, develop and promote the Kenyan Sugar Industry is seeking to fill the positions of Surveillance Officers.

4 Positions

Job Role

Responsible for facilitating the mandate of the organization with respect to border control and prevention of illegal imports and exports of the commodity to ensure compliance with relevant laws.

The Candidates

The ideal candidates will report to the Head of Surveillance Unit.

They should be conversant with import and export processes and have proven surveillance skills to effectively gather intelligence information and monitor movement of imported/exported/transit commodities in liaison with other regulatory and law enforcing authorities and ensure compliance with the laid down regulations.

They MUST demonstrate an in-depth understanding and ability to interpret the international transit rules and regulations, customs and excise rules and regulations, regional and multi-lateral trade protocols and ensure compliance

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and document systems and procedures to regulate the importation of commodities.
  • Monitor imports to ensure appropriate levy collection
  • Verify import/export documentation and reconcile with levies collected.
  • Collect, analyze and compile intelligence information on imported and transit commodities and submit daily reports to Management
  • Monitor transit commodities to ensure exit through various points countrywide.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities to ensure compliance with standards and regulation on imports and exports.

Qualification and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Training and/or experience in security intelligence will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of import/export documentation processes
  • Computer literate
  • 5 years’ work experience
