Our client, a leading Health Supply Chain Management Organisation that specialises in Logistics and Supply Chain Management Services for pharmaceutical products and health commodities is seeking to recruit for the following position to support their projects:

Laboratory Supply Chain Management Specialist

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Laboratory Supply Chain Management Advisor, the role is to support the planning,
implementation, monitoring and evaluation of laboratory commodity supply chain and logistics management activities and mentoring key stake holders regarding quality assurance and quality control within a laboratory.

Key accountabilities
  • Support the Laboratory SCM Advisor in planning and implementation of laboratory work plans.
  • Implement laboratory logistics policies, systems, goals, objectives, procedures and work plans.
  • Support the field team in supervising laboratory commodity management at health facility level.
  • Plan and conduct laboratory supply chain and logistics management training for health facility laboratory personnel.
  • Ensure compliance to laboratory standard operating procedures at central and health facility level.
  • Support laboratory logistics monitoring and evaluation activities.
  • Provide technical assistance to IPs with focus on laboratory maintenance and support.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors and/or Master’s Degree in Laboratory Technology.
  • Work experience requirements
  • 4 - 7 years of related experience with reputable international organization.
  • Experience in clinical laboratory services in an accredited laboratory.
  • Experience laboratory supply chain management.
  • Experience with laboratory tests and techniques, including equipment, reagents and consumables required for the diagnosis and monitoring of the following (but not limited to): hematology, clinical chemistry and flow cytometry HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria, STIs, Hepatitis B, etc.
  • Experience with procedures for internal and external quality control.
  • A proven ability to work as part of a team and to be self-managing.
  • Experience in mentoring and training of laboratory personnel.
  • Knowledge of the stepwise accreditation of medical laboratories is essential
  • Computer knowledge is essential particularly packages like Excel, Power Point and Ms Word.
